Old topic...... I just went into Hongkong and Macau and both countries did not stamp (both Entry and Exit) on my Singapore Passport....

I wonder how can one check his passport on his own to see when he entered OR exited the Countries without any stamps..... its a biometric passport of course; Most likely the immigration depts. might have access but how about us people on the street ....just wondering why they dont stamp

Hong kong no longer stamp entry and exit stamp on your passport. But i remember they do issue you one piece of small paper which indicate the day you have entered. That piece of paper can serve as a proof.

Yes they give a very small paper -like 1/2 name card size and so thin paper - bound to get lost and my son lost his ; so crux of the matter remains unanswered - how do we check ?? Like if the school asks for passport ( though they did not )

Israel - they will ask if its ok to stamp on your passport. If its not (because once you have an Israeli stamp there, you will not be able to enter most Muslim countries using that passport), they will pass you a slip of paper. Alternatively, you can apply to ICA for a passport exclusively for Israel only.

Mexico (Tijuana) by land from the US - they didn't stamp, but I requested for one because I wanted a 'souvenir' and proof I entered Mexico. But the guy just gave me a weird look and wave me through. No choice, I have to buy a mug and take photos to prove I was there.

The same thing happened to me when I was leaving HK Airport - the immigration guy just kept on nodding his head and talking in a strange way and quickly asked the next pax to his counter and I just moved on - really this people in immigration really got stress ( any way most people in HK too are like that ) be it in hotels or restaurants but MTR staff is much better than immigration there

What do you mean that the immigration guy just kept on nodding his head and talking in a strange way?

Haha. I wished. But that place was very unsafe, according to the American friend who drove us there from San Diego. So we simply stopped by a road side stall for souvenirs, drove round a little bit more and headed back to the border crossing.

I really don't know how to answer you bro, but i asked him in English and even gestured the stamp thing and he like said - move on and nodded his head left to right , for lack of better words to say to me and the person behind me already had started to give his passport.... so I just walked on. Apparently my son had lost his small paper which we are supposed to keep and he was not asked for it too or given a new one too and he was queing at another line;
