those ebay sets are a no no.....not worth it at all. better buy from shops/dealers who can provide good after sales service.

Not exactly, the prices sold for warranty the risk. Friend of mine did so, saved a lot, camera still working well and dandy still.

I'm going via this option from now on, even with local, you still ahve to send it back and pay for postage and later collect it

yourself, which in reality don't see much difference from buying online. Gmarket has a few reputed sellers as well.

Bro,

then for CR300.. u said with builtin power magic.. so the power cable is cigarette lighter or 3 wire to battery(like power magic. Acc-Batt-Grd)?

else can explain how does CR300 builtin power magic works if using cigarette lighter wire only

Need external power magic lo [:p]

Its cig lighter plug.

The internal build-in power magic is company secret. [:p]

For the difference in price ($100!), I think it's more worth it to get a PI set. I already posted a friend's contact and he brings PI set and will provide LOCAL warranty... you make your wise choice lor :D

I've bought at least 4 sets for family and friends and have been running fine for the past 1 year. PM me if you want more info.

Ciga lighter cant work with the built in power magic because when your engine is off, the ciga point will stop supplying power, only suitable for connecting to fuse box [;)]

Just wanted to show off my "mod" of the blackvue dr400g-hd i made, to battle the heat issue.

I didn't tested it as of yet but it will be fully tested once i install the power magic pro to my car.

I have read about the heatsink somebody installed on the cpu of the cam, and also i had test fitted one just to see how hot it would become, not the same way as the guy with the heatsink mod, but enough for me to test. Well i almost burned my hand when i tried to remove the heatsink from the cam when it only was running for 15 minutes. So that was a nono for me. I also orderd a micro fan (25mmx25mm) because i have read about the heating issue just after i orderd the cam. The fan needs 5v to run at full speed, but the battery is giving 3,7v which is sufficient (it seems).

I have opted for this mod because the plan is to hardwire (via power magic) to my car.

I still need to work on the mounting of the fan but that won't be a big issue.

Drained the battery to much even while the cam was connected to a 12v. Back to the drawingboard and try to find an external power source for the fan. The problem with the battery being drained is that the cam doesn't close down, but rather shuts down all of the sudden which leads to incorect time and data and corrupt video files.
