Perfect A/F ratio.?

Hi Guys,just want to know what is the perfect A/F ratio in our weather,for N/A engines.?My "Z" is running at 10.5:1 at W.O.T.,which is too high according to my tuner,so he have bring it down to 12.5:1 at W.O.T.,just want to know,"Leaner" will it ruin the engine.?Thanks.

In general the perfect AFR is approximately 14.7:1 so 12.5:1 is still considered rich.

Running lean AFR actually raise the temperature which can cause detonation and overheating, especially during acceleration and high load condition.

Thanks,i am sticking to 12.5:1 for the time being,will check oil temp....& pinging.

WOT should be rich cannot be at 14.7 Yr current setting is OK

If you're using a high comp or FI car, 10.5: 1 sounds just about right, however 12.5 could work depending on the engine condition, etc. Just monitor the car for pinging whilst driving around, esp on a hot day.
