Toapayohkid 1st Gear August 15, 2011 Share August 15, 2011 Unfortunately, we are still being referred to as a "little red dot" and our neighbours think they can claim the islands around us even though we have been operating on them since the time of the British. I think we need to understand that having a strong military goes beyond actually fighting wars... agree! but a lot of people don't pay attention to history altho history always repeats itself. small states don't survive very long unless they have disproportionate muscle. Cos most who renounce SG citizenship already made up their mind.. and never looked back.. I personally knew of a few ex-Singaporean families migrated to Melbourne and enjoying the Aussie lifestyle now. It's true that tax and cost of living is higher than in Singapore, but their quality of life is so much better than when they're in Singapore. Less stress and hectic lifestyle. More family time etc.. Tom_kkh 1st Gear August 15, 2011 Share August 15, 2011 from this thread http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2667668 many have commented that PRs have 0 loyalty for singapore despite going thru NS and attaining citizenship i recall long ago i once read that LKY once said that he doesn't trust giving arms to non-chinese races in NS; not sure if its true so does he think its safe to pass arms to these new citizens? are these new citizens allowed to carry arms and go to war for singapore? if war with China, i prefer the new citizen beside me its an Indian New citizen and verse verso. just don send me a "buddy" where we are fighting against his roots. When his teaching contract ended he stayed on with his family and became a normal postal worker. He is happier now and is working towards having his own HOUSE which he can never foresee he will be able to afford should he had stayed in Singapore.' Donno true or not! another friend say his Bil is oso a postal worker in Melbourne, owns a house and a car there, and family living happily. Joseph22 Turbocharged August 15, 2011 Share August 15, 2011 War is never safe having said that, we are safer with New Citizen compare to a certain Mr Gay despite him being a true blue born here Singaporean. To those who think Singapore wont have war, dont be decieved by a certain Mr Tan (not any of the EP candidates.) theory. Kuwait also think they will not have war hence dont have a strong army. look what happen to them.

Expertz 1st Gear August 15, 2011 Author Share August 15, 2011 Hi members. Sorry not being racist but according to TS the Army only takes in certain races to carry arms? I dont think so coz there are lots of malays and indians in army can carry arms, rifles etc. So i dont think its a problem in SIN. But what worry me are those PRCs attaining citizenship in SIN. I dont think they are loyal to our country. from my understanding malays and indians can only go to police or civil force? is it true that there are malays and indians in army and allowed to carry arms?
