What goes around comes around.

They try to milk drivers of that few dollars and end up losing more.

No sympathy. Would even be better if they can't resume operations for months.

The concern is if the fire is not put off, that will cause an air-polution. And those poor civil defence guys had to risk putting it off.

Don't forget....today they lost the fuel and damages.

Where will the money to repair and recoup the losses come from eventually?

Get from the US main office?Or local office have to get creative?

Let's see if a large part of their facilities are damaged and requires a substantial sum of $$$ to repair, will they pull out of SG and rebuild their refinary elsewhere.

If they still stick to SG, it does show that even if the gov remove the 3/4 tank rule, these cartel will never pull out of SG.

This is only a scare tactic to make people think these cartels will pull out so that we don't demand too much.

In other countries, when the oil are being delievered via the pipelines, they are already being siphoned halfway.

The local facility is not merely a refinery. It is an entire petrochemical complex including the production the petrochemical products including petroleum products. do you have any idea how much money it costs to build a petrochemical complex?

Neutral Newbie

yesterday night i just went to shell to pump petrol. i noticed that the prices they displayed outside the petrol station is different from what they are charging. i was shocked to see the difference in price when i noticed it. 95 for $2.08 i thought i was pumping 98 then.

I ve seen it.only a small area damaged but problem is with delivery pipe system.

it will take a few month to restore fully.

they are not going anywhere else.

This refinery is very famous worldwide, and invested a few billions recently.

Yes the CD guys had risked their lives and worked hard to put Water on Oil Fire.

And also those fire brigades from other neighbourhood refineries and chemical companies who used Foam to put out fire and are still putting foam blanket over the fuel.

i guess from this you'll be able to judge if there is really indeed price-fixing, if shell increases its prices because of this fire then the other companies have no reason to increase eh?
