i think u gotta put it in SG's context. RX8 isn't that bad for the $$$.

quite true.... personally i wish there's another non-rotary engine for the body which is quite functional if not eye-pleasing [:)]

RX7, RX8... hmmm... R32.. R33.... R34.... what does it say? The latter should be the one thats more refined or at least similiar? Why cant we compare RX7 and RX8? I'm not even comparing RX8 to my car. And for your info my friend owned 1 but sold it. Driven it before but I still prefer my own. Got 2 friends that got an fd and its an awesome car to look at and drive but probably not own due to fuel consumption. If RX8 wasnt meant to replace the RX7, for the love of God, give that ugly bitch another name!

Obviously I know a good car doesnt mean you can go from 0-100 in 2s but its essential for a good sports car to be in the range of at least 6 or 7. I'm in the world of turbo so dont tell me about NA (e.g. mx5). If you want handling, you should be getting the likes of mx5. These half arse design is just there to fill the gap pretty much like the V35 (nothing against them) because Nissan cannot properly do a newer Skyline but wanna give the public something. In the end you get a 350z chopped up and made into a "Skyline" with round tail lights.

And frankly, to each his own. Something thats s--t to me might be someone's treasure. In this case, RX8 is the s--t.

read my post before this, the history of the rx-series from day one in the 60s/70s till today show Mazda doesnt intend in general one should duplicate the earlier one..... rx7 series (of all its 3-4 generations bearing the badge "rx7") was quite outstanding but its a stand alone series, didnt not relate completely to rx2, rx3, etc etc.... therefore there's no compelling reason for rx8 to follow rx7.

Since you agree the 0-100 time is not the be all and end all yardstick for sports car, and handling matters much, the rx8 doesnt seem to be 'shiiit' as you put it. its handling is above average even for a sports car in general.

Anyway, you are entitled to your views just as the other bros here.

Rx8 is not a joke. Have you ever driven an rx8 before? I dont mean those rented one or two days but actually own and see what it can do in terms of handling and road feel? So far i have not sat in a car that provides the same feel on the road.

Power is not everything. What is power without control?

And a good car is not 0-100 in 2seconds.

oh so now u tink rx8 is good car har . u play maximum tune 3 too much liao my friend . rx8 is a bloody joke mate . end of the real story .

even a shitty colt ver r has better handling the the rx8 . integra type r slaughter it . u got c best motoring ? hot version ? i m sorri to dissappoint u rx8 fan boy . blame on ford for taking part in the development of the weakest engine in the whole white world . sayonara rx8 . lets hope rx9 is not another dissappointment . rx8 can la . for pien mei mei . then bring them go out in ur car . haha .

Yea, personally drove one of my friend's one, the feel was amazing but i heard there is some maintenance problem due to the rotary engine?

rx8 stock = no problem . rx8 mod na = no problem . rx8 mod forced induct = de ba boom bang bom bam .

rx7 stock = no problem . rx7 with the right mod = no problem . rx7 WITHOUT the proper mod = de ba boom bang bom bam .

+1 on that, how can rx8 be a joke when it has achieved so many international awards? As of October 2006 the RX-8 has won at least 37 international motoring awards including 2003 International Engine of the Year, the 2003 Japanese Car of the Year, Australia's Wheels magazine's Car of the Year for 2003, the 2004 Singapore Car of the Year, the 2004 U.S. Best Sports Car, and several UK Best Car Awards. It was named on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 2004, 2005, and 2006. It also took home 1st place on Car and Driver's "Four of a Kind" comparison test.[12] 2010 RX-8 R3 edition placed 3rd out of 7 on Car and Driver's The Best-Handling Car in America for Less Than $100,000.

yes true it is also a joke compared to ferrari, porsche, lambos, skyline and other high end sports cars..dunno wat you trying to prove bro..rx8 cannot be compared to rx7 because it is 2 TOTALLY DIFFERENT CAR, comparing it to rx7 is as good as comparing it to other brands of cars like ferrari and porsche..rx8 was never meant to replace rx7 :)

u got to be shitting me . do research b4 u s--t all over the thread . rx7 is on the same level as a base gt3 bro . u ever saw track video ? f360 f355 loses badly to rx7 on track . both stock . both driven by proffesional driver .
