Throttle2 Supersonic November 1, 2011 Share November 1, 2011 The resonance-theory doesnt sound logical. The screeches only happen in one particular turn and hardly anywhere else. I guess i usually take the corner at a certain low speed and the reverbrations take place. btw the $10k spent on the 8+4 pots AMG setup does sound good value (8-pot is really reassuring!!) . I coughed out 5k for the 6- (and just the front, and its only just a jap brand) anyone seen 10-pot on road car? hehehe, actually $10k is understatement..... yes indeed the braking power is pretty strong sometimes i scared i jam brakes the fella behind cant brake as good as me and hit me. hahah
Ronleo 6th Gear November 1, 2011 Share November 1, 2011 My brake pads / rotors are in working condition and are not worn but at very low speed braking (below 10 kmh turning into side road, for example) sometimes it makes mild screeching sounds. Incidentally, cold morning also same sounds when i move the car out from the carpark. Any bro experience this? Workshop has checked it and said nothing wrong with the brakes. Is your car a Mazda? LouislexusGS Clutched November 2, 2011 Share November 2, 2011 I got this problem when my car's brake pads worn out. Brake discs had been cleaned up and shuffled a couple of times by Lexus before changing both at 30,000 Km. High speed brakes are fine; but while you are travelling at low speed and coming in to brake slowly, the screeching noise is quite irritating to outsiders. (Got one incident, a passerby carrying a baby nearby, and the baby starting crying because of the screeching noise from my brakes when I come to a stop. When I wind down my windows, then only I discovered the screeching noise is louder than I thought.) This, from the mechanic is a problem especially for high performance brakes / carbon generated brakes...though when previously when I am driving a Camry, even when the brakes are wore out, no screeching noise is produced. Gdspd08 2nd Gear November 2, 2011 Share November 2, 2011 I also have this experience recently I change brakepad two weeks ago. Stock brakepad got from stockist. The best part is no need step on brake..it will create a circular type of squeeky noise but will go away after a short in the morning. Actually not in the morning. After a few hour of car rest, the noise come back again and no need step on brake..just drive and you will heard the squeeky sound for a short while. Yes, the sudden n loud screech is 'frightening' to babies..... (unless the baby is used to hear mom n dad making their bed screech at nite )
