More likely those cameras is to telecast how serious the flash flood is lo.

I don't think cameras will make much difference.

 

Why?

 

Well they are called FLASH floods right? Meaning they happen in a FLASH? Like, ya know, really really fast - the cameras how to help like that in the real world?

 

Yah, i also think they call it flash floods because it happens really quickly.

 

I'm just thinking how they can use the cameras. Maybe if they see the water level rising very quickly, and they know it's gonna flood, they can send their staff or contractors to the area to see if people need help with the floods? Or maybe they can use the cameras to see how the flash flood builds up, and better identify the cause of the floods (e.g due to chokes)? Any other ideas? Haha, we can collate and send PUB a list of how-to-use-your-cameras!

Flash floods can happen anywhere, remember the Balestier Road case where a Indon boy swep away during a flash flood. So beware, can happen anywhere and places where you least expected......

its like u take a 1 litre container and put a hole at the bottom.

 

Then you pour slowly 2 litre of water, the water will not overflow, as the water will have time to drain out from the hole.

 

But if you pour faster, the water will overflow..

 

Although its still 2 litre of water, outcome is very different..

 

IMHO ...what the gahment can do now is to put more "holes"..however this will take time. So give them sometime to rectify..

It should be like this.

Take a 1 litre container and put 10 holes at the bottom.

Then pour slowly 2 litre of water, the water will not overflow as the water will have time to drain out from the holes.

Now, with urbanization and those underground tunnels, we are like sealing some of the 10 holes to left lets say 5 holes.

Now, with the same 2 litre of water, pouring at the same speed, it will over flow as the remaining 5 holes could not drain as fast as 10 holes. Worse, we fill the 1 litre container with something, leaving it with maybe 0.5 litre only. double whammy.

if japan can have PM that changes every 6-12 months, parliment which total salary is much lesser than us. A crippled nuclear power plant after the nature disaster can build this .. why cant our govt who hasn't change, no natural disaster, collected more salary then top 10 leaders of the world build this??
