That's what I was thinking but they said the battery spoilt liao and cannot be recharged.I am not so sound about car technical stuffs that's why need a trusted workshop .Is there any recourse for us as a consumer?

a faulty battery =/= a flat battery. based on your earlier description, the battery seemed to be drained. how did it become faulty suddenly? -_-  i can charge it for you if you still have it.  :D

Once the battery voltage drop to 2volt and below it's difficult to charge it up unless you have a must high end battery charger.

Hi All,

Personally i was very disappointed with them.I was a loyal customer for the past 9 years but maybe it's time to look for other workshop.Did my servicing and change water pump pulley and belt.As the belt was abit tight and screeching the next day when it was not warm up.I went back for them to adjust. To my horror, the mechanic accidentally damaged my radiator pipe and asked me to change the whole assembly as the pipe is connected to the assembly. They shown me the pipe that it was old and could be damaged easily. To cut the story short,i had no choice as i got other appointments in the afternoon. They still charged me labour and parts.

Anyway it was not the first time, the newbies accidentally drained away my battery and i had to replace another during a servicing one year ago.Think enough is enough.By the way i service at their HQ in changi.

unless this is their underhand business methods. if its true its really [furious]

How come?

They advised me to change a part.

Was quoted: Parts $280 (inclusive of transport) and labour $120. I naively agreed.

But something about their body language just kept nagging at me. 5 mins later, I called my usual stockist and mech for miscellaneous repairs. Parts $130. Labour $80.

I told them I did not want to change. Faces turned black. I was there for a major interval servicing but I think the staff had no mood to service my ride after that (on hindsight). I did not recall seeing them balance the wheels as they usually do for major servicing interval, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps I was not there when they did it.

On the way home along TPE, my steering wheel was vibrating a lot when the speedo goes above 100km/h, especially when I am decelerating to 100km/h. I was feeling damn sian and disappointed in my heart. Sian bec I need to look for another workshop. Disappointed bec I have been servicing with them since 2005.

That's strange. Their staff do not get commission for ordering n fixing parts. However their pay structure may have changed. Going back to riverview auto?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I also stopped going to them but was because I changed rides. Maybe they have new staff who get a cut from the parts they order.

I had some good experience with them some years back. In one case, my car boot latch spoilt when I was on the way back from Malaysia. Imagine I had to use rope to tie the boot lid down while driving slowly in case luggage in boot fall off. Once arrive in Singapore, jitao go their workshop. They managed to fix the latch and dogs not accept any $ as they said small issue and I was regular customer.

The above experience  is no longer there since they restructure their service using the Western style labor cost. Many are their good mechanics left since people seldom patronize them except for standard servicing which seems the management prefer to do so since their business is on OE fast-moving items. The worst part is some of the new staff from ATC quality of works is not good and the new local one still exist works with no motivation.

If they really move towards a replace parts commission structure, then its a sad day for the company
