lol might as well ask driver if he lost weight.

[laugh] maybe driver weight less den the battery.

Im on wet battery, lasted me 4 yrs till now, notice that MF battery can only last the most 2yrs.

Maintenance free can die off without warning, wet battery at least give you sign when you need to top up alot.

fully agreed. our climate (hoT) is not suitable for MF battery. wet battery lasts longer. moreover most cars have their batteries in the engine bay and the heat is the killer.

get wet battery, change every 3 years.. cheap and easy.

I dont see much wet batteries here, but in Thailand most vehicles uses wet bats. I got mine YUASA there, no top up at all for the first 2 yrs, still haven use up one bot of bat water till now coming to 5th yr. Wet bats will give you alot of warning sighs b4 dieing on you, eg need to keep toping up.

Maybe bat shop ploy to sell more MF bat and stop selling wet bat.

IMHO, its more of the engine bay heat than the weather.

I am planning to shift my battery to the trunk to prolong its life.

Just changed battery recently.

The car suddenly feels more powerful than before.

Although I only used my butt dyno for measurement, I am quite sure this is not my imagination.

How is this possible?

Only if you are driving Tamiya

Mine first MF battery came wif the car die on the less den a yr, second MF bat lasted only 1 and half yr, third MF bat die only 8 mths, Ive got no ICE car all stock. My last wet battery on the 4th yr still going strong but need to top up water regularly. Its ok for me cos I do regular fluid check on my car every month.

Most car came with heat shield for the battery but can diy a better one. Move to the trunk sibei mah fan, and careful with those toxic gases the battery will emit goes into the passenger compartment.

Does higher amperes battery(above specification of the stock battery) give better performance to the car?

I doubt so, higher ampheres allow the bat to store more only.

Not exactly. Both the battery and alternator provides power to everything in the car. The +ve of the alternator is connected to the +ve of the battery as well.

However, its mostly from the alternator rather than battery. This is because the alternator provides a higher voltage ~14.2V compared to battery's ~12.6V

the alternator charge the battery, and the battery supply the power. Try to disconnect the battery and run everything on the alternator alone and guess what happen?
