Hi bros

Yesterday I discovered a hissing sound coming out from the air con vent in the center console of the car. When I turn it off, no sound at all. Once air con on, the hissing sound ll come out once every 1-2 min. Anyone know what happen or where should I service?

Air con is blowing cool air as usual no change though. Thanks!

Just remove your Aircon filter can give it a few knock. You should see a few dried leave there causing the sound. Happened to me.

I think from fan coil there, happened to my colleague, he using "chiong" part and so everytime his air-con got hissing sound.

I suggest u send to air-con specialist check, they are the expert. Here you will get a lot of answers but don't know which is true.

I went to a reputable air con service centre. Done check n found that I am low on the 'gas' . , this morn air con was blowing air that is not cold, Suspected leak that's why .

Boss told me it might b cooling cold damaged n leaking , damage $750 ! I didn't do it but done a top up gas n see how it goes first.

Will it be a case of low in gas which requires top up? I hope so , else damage $750!

Think not cheap to replace if anything happen to the air-con area. The other time i have one friend spent nearly $1K when his car air-con compressor and coil spoilt!

The refrigerant gas does not deplete voluntarily.

If you are 'low' again, there has to be a leak.

But one other place is the hot/cold (red/blue) pippings.

A recon cooling coil will be much cheaper if you intend to change ride soon.

The boss uses a machine which has two tubes that are use to attached on the piping of my air con unit , n the meter on the machine shows it's low on the 'gas' so they suspect a leak in cooling coil . Thats how they checked my car , nothing else , didn't check filter . He says compressor is ok

So I asked for a top up n see if the nex few days what ll happen if low again means damage big time hv to change that cooling coil!

$750 for denso brand plus labor as they need to dismantle several parts inorder to reach the air con

Try moto-aire at sin ming.

My van evaporator coil rotten and leaked.

Replaced coil, refill coolant about $400.
