fuel efficiency and performance and road tax wise, can foresee next couple of years, Small displacement turbo will lead the trend of automotive industry, such as 1.2T, 1.4T and 1.5T or 1.6T,

Yeah. Would be attractive to most people, especially when can save money from petrol. Unfortunately, there aren't many on the market currently. Perhaps AD here don't bring them in.

Yes. Subaru can sell more XVs if they fit their it with a small turbo, remain in Cat A COE level and priced competitively. I think it will not "virtually kill off it's competition". There is only so much people who might like the brand name or like the design.

Nissan hit the correct formula here with the 1.2T qq. They even kill many would-be Cat A sedan buyers. My personal observation.

In Singapore COE context, if a Cat A car comes with a turbo engine (>130hp), it will kill itself first. Price will be too close to the next higher model. The Sylphy 1.6T is a great example, priced same as Teana 2.0.

I agree if the vx comes will a turbo engine, it will virtually kill off it's competition.

Hi peeps, it got me excited to share my experience with this new drive when I saw this post. Been hunting for a new car as my nine year jazz is ready for "slaughter".

Went to test drive several cars like Vezel, Ford Focus, Mazda 3. But the love for XV were even more. Brought my frds to visit the show room...they straight away given the thumbs down...firstly they were looking for value for $ cars. Mazda was obviously their choice due to its sleek design...amd XV was no where nearly to Mazda 3 design.

But no matter what they said, i did not change my mind for this car (2015 model with controls on steering wheel)

Going for my 1k servicing soon and hopefully the FC is better. Currently pump 2x for 2 weeks drive already and comparing with my jazz it's seems I different as XV has larger fuel tank (60L). So hopefully after the first servicing the results will improve.

Adding on to what's been written on this forum:

There's a Eco mode (auto start stop) function to save on fuel during a long stop such as traffic lights or a long wait. You just need to step abit harder than the usual braking during a stop to activate the Eco mode.

Another safety feature which is unlocking the car at the driver side with only driver door unlocked with a little girp at the handle. To unlock all doors you need to press the unlock button at the door. A little inconvenience if you are driving with passengers ready to take the back seats. However if you unlock from the front passenger door, all doors will be unlocked.

So far the drive is fantastic. Super silent and the pick up is generally responsive depending on how you step the accelerator.

For those who is contemplating on what car to get, this is a car you should consider...but if you are looking for high torque or 100kmh below 10s then sorry this car is not for you. Stability n realizability is found in this car....

Cheers to those who have gotten this car and to those intending to get this car...

Subaru/ Motor Image did display the very tasty 1.6 turbo Levorg at the recent motor show. It has been confirmed for sale in the UK and Australia already in the 1.6T guise. No word on the 2L T.

If this car makes it here it will be great! If they could shoe horn this engine into the XV, it'd also be great! This might come to pass as Suzuki has announced that they intend to put a 1.6T into the new Vitara and Swift Sport.

From this website http://www.carscoops.com/2015/03/subaru-brings-euro-spec-levorg-to.html

Length-wise, the Levorg measures about the same as a Skoda Octavia Combi at 4,690mm. It also measures 1,780 mm in width and 1,485 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm.

It will of course feature Subaru's AWD system - which has always been one of their main selling points, especially with European customers.

Currently, there's no reason to assume that the 1.6 liter turbocharged boxer engine will differ from the unit found inside the Japanese-spec version, which is good for 170 PS and 250 Nm (175 lb-ft) of torque. It'll also average about 5.7 liters/100km, which isn't bad at all, especially compared to the petrol boxer engines we're normally used to.

The Japanese-spec Levorg also comes with a Start/Stop function, an SI-Drive mode selector (Sport) & (Intelligent) and a new generation Active Torque Split AWD system.

You also get LED headlights, EyeSight lane keeping assistance, interior and exterior ambient lighting, an electronic parking brake (with Hill Hold function), keyless entry, 4 USB ports (2 front, 2 rear), full automatic air conditioning with independent left and right temperature adjustment function and Satin plated door mirrors.

Go view all 3 models, and scrutinize the interior/exterior,specs, offer package and test drive all 3

You will come to a conclusion. Subaru.....either you totally hate it, or simply love it.

Our views will tend to be biased, since this is a XV thread [:p]

I'd only get an XV if it were full spec. I think the version selling now is. When I viewed it in March, it was a bare basic car, which made it bad value. Wonder how MI managed to sell any, with Qashqai being such a hot seller with a better setup. My colleague got a barebones one and had to squeeze the AD for stuff.

Test drove it when it was newly launched. Exterior looks are good. As for the drive, well, it feels like you're driving a golf buggy. Interior space is not good, can't fit a golf bag horizontally across. But it should appeal to the younger set.

the full specs XV is good.

i went to see the bare bone one..very disapppointing for the price....

XV is a full SUV with 4WD...QQ and Vezel are not......

Ha.... you are correct. The XV should come with full specs in the first place!

Actually, MI did sell a number, I'm one of those suckers !! [laugh]

TBH, the bare bone XV felt rather nostalgic, like driving an 90's ride without the bells and whistles. But with comprehensive passive safety and a fairly good drivetrain.

Ok, no more excuse [speechless]

i am one of those suckers too. Hahaha... but then again, lesser frills means lesser stuff that will spoil and needs replacement in the long run. I am someone who is lazy at changing cars(drive 10yr type), unless it fails me too often.

Still... it's just an excuse.... lol!

Anyone looking for this?

The first shipment cost USD$29, second just additional $15, if you are interested we can share the shipping cost (29+15)/2 = $22

After conversion, roughly SGD150 with shipment per piece.
