Stiener 1st Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 Just change to lane 2 and let him pass then pray hard that a TP is just nearby when the speed is so much above speed limit. Since the driver want to speed just let them have their opportunities. Then there will be more licenses being suspended or revoked. Lesser ppl competing for COE. ↡ Advertisement
KaKiLang 4th Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 guys .. just wanna check with u all drivers Say ..you are driving along bke , aye ...etc and you are on the right lane at around 100km/hr , while the speed limit is 90km/hr ....then suddenly a car starts to tailgate you forcing u to step on the gas .... will you speed up or just maintain on your 100km/hr ? who is correct , who is wrong , Are u in the wrong if u refuse to speed up nor go to other lane for him to overtake as there is no road hogging in this instance and u are already 10km/hr above the speed limit ? no firing here ..just need some opinion from you guys in here 100km/hr in sg highway, technically you are wrong and the tailgater oso wrong for not keeping a safe distance. with Be it NSHW (limit at 110km/hr) or the Autobahn, every users should knows the ethics and considerations for any faster cars among ourselves, put the rules binding it asides. If you follow the rules deligently with the actual situations you will die long ago.
KaKiLang 4th Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 If you got balls to speed, take off. Otherwise, move aside. Thats wat lane 1 is for. "Overtaking" not road hogging! Whether you move at 90, 100, 120, 130, etc and someone behind you is tailgating. It only means 1 thing, "please excuse me" Thats mine point. Thats the rule of right most lane, only when an ambulance comes by den everyone gotta fuk off.
Dadiao 1st Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 i think the speed limits of the lanes should be stated inside the "Highway Code". Getting too many slower cars occupying the 1st lane, especially when you are in a hurry.
Zxcvb Turbocharged December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 Just simply give way to the overtaking car. What's so difficult about it?? Even an uneducated-no-license Malaysian driver will know this unwritten rule.
Inimatad 1st Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 In my opinion, let the fella pass. Switching to Lane 2 won't kill you right? Anyway, the fella behind you in lane 1 may be rushing to the hospital for a life and death thingy.
Zxcvb Turbocharged December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 Just last week, I was driving 110 on the CTE at wee hours. Then this type-R coming fast from my behind going about 120/130. I also change lane to let him pass.

It is... Not about road hogging Not about speeding Not about keeping within speed limits Not about tailgating It is about GIVING WAY to fellow drivers. Just give way to faster cars or else if everyone has this not giving-in mentality, our roads will become more congested. It is really about ourselves. Are we generous enough to give way or wants to remain as a self-centred person. Edited December 18, 2011 by Renegade777

Mecontle 1st Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 Give way for fast approaching vehicles behind la..unless one's frail ego cannot handle people's car going faster than you. Classic drivers with beat up ego are taxi drivers. 90% won't give way, the other 10% will give way because they are taking the next exit. so zhun remark , sum more want to test water no signal cut ur lane catch u off guard eat ur lane forcing u to brake

Flyguy63 Neutral Newbie December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 Bro,right lane is an overtaking lane.Rule of thumb is if you are the slower vehicle, move aside for the faster vehicle.Regardless of speed. If he is waaaaaay beyond the speed limit, you still give way, unless you can outrun or outgun him.......which is strongly discouraged. Sky61 1st Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 Now-a-days, 3rd lane is for overtaking - 1st lane is for road hoggers, 2nd land is for commercial vanes and trucks. I find 3rd lane is more and more getting free these days! thats very true.. i notice that too,so sometimes i stick to lane 3. if at lane 1 and vehicle behind is catching up, either u speed up or switch lanes to lane 2. give a little kindness n patience and make the roads more bearable for all. if u want to stroke ur ego, do it at the tracks, not on the roads.
