Kmj3943 Neutral Newbie February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 (edited) Obviously bro Jiannshan has budget concern. So whoever recommending C200 and above are way out. Toyota Mark X are first thing to opt out on your list as it having speed cut off @ 190km/h. So for around $150K your best bet will be, Ford Mondeo 2.0 Ecoboost Titanium 4/5dr. With 203hp & 300Nm torque, it come with modern fast shifting PowerShift Dual Clutch transmission are much hi-tech than MarkX, C200 xxxtronic gearbox. To top them off, it also come with HID, Driver (with memory) & Passenger electric control seat, Dual Zone + rear aircon, stereo with Bluetooth/USB/AUX inputs for your mobile devices. The only problem I can see on Mondeo was the brand badge & it resale value. So you might want ot move on a little bit premium brand to $163K, Skoda Superb 2.0 Elegance. It has almost everything Mondeo offering + paddle shift. It also having brand badge & it resale value problem like Mondeo. So if still itching about badge, than move on to more premium $177K, Volkswagen Passat 1.8T. (Not the CC model) Lower power than the other 2 @ 160 bhp & 250 Nm torque, but does come with DSG (Direct Shift Gear) Dual Clutch transmission. It has almost everything Mondeo offering + paddle shift, sunroof. Another even better option was the $185K, Audi A4 2.0 TFSI quattro S-tronic (PI). Too bad you'd mentioned like that (me too). Btw Jiannshan, what's your age range? Above "Luxury Class" cars might not suit you taste. You might consider other "Compact Class" cars if you're much younger @ 25~35. Safetycar Neutral Newbie November 15, 2012 Share November 15, 2012 I will grow on you. There is a someone driving a Skoda Octavia in my company, & the look grows on me everytime I see it. Have I not known such a wonderful car until someone posted here, I might even have bought this instead. For you, Merc C class nowadays are a dim a dozen, & Mark X is so old liao. Skoda is more exclusive. And when you drive, people know you are the kind of guy that appreciate car, instead of a crowd follower, or badge chaser. Hey .... I fully agreed !!!!!!!! I had a chance to look into the Skoda and I am very impressed with all the ergonomics aspects. Took me by surprise ... I bought another Mark X last year .... still thinks it is the overall winner in most aspects. But if I have the chance ... I would wanna buy a Skoda. Nice !!! C Class also Nice .... All Nice .... I think I know what I wanna buy next .. BUY 4D !!!!!!!!!!!
