high chance is a worn dampers that is not damping the oscillation.

this kind of floating make one very car sick, like riding on a boat in a tidal wave..... [dizzy]

I will prefer bouncing ride.. [:p]

Wider tire makes it worse [shakehead] . Picanto cruising speed around there, too. May help with a little narrower tire [:p] . Better to trade-in for car model with better road adhersion. [laugh]

Ermm I tot wider is more stable. thats why lotus uses 17" even when they are so light.

I personally tried 14" and 15" (on a vios) and theres a great diff at high speed stability.

15" couple with coilover can reach 180+ and feels firm.

Maybe diff setup works for diff cars. =/

Yeah probably damper koyak already. changed together when I had my shocks changed last year. so far so good.on 165/60/R14 Yokohama tires and sports rim.probably me large guy too so haven had the floating feeling as yet. Travelled on NSHW on 130km/h still quiteok. [:p]

Can I clarify that I meant same wheel size, but narrower tire. Bigger wheel size, wider/narrower tire can have different performance. Likewise, different cars/weight (Vios/Picanto). You may be aware that wider tire more comfortable and stable feeling, but can be more slippery (dangerous) to road camber changes at certain speed. We trade either one for the other. The car weight does play a part (Vios heavier than Picanto). Not sure if LTA banned any coilover, I believe it reduces early alert against all wheel skid (suddenly the car decided to go hit the kerb, or cuddle a lamppost/tree).

that's why it's being looked down by fellow drivers on the road and some in this forum.

anyway pica is meant for gentle driving. my driving become more and more relax as i aged [laugh]

recently my fc is around 17km/l due to this and don't worry i dont hog the first lane, do dont come and shoot me -_-

any car, regardless of brand and sizes, is a mean of transport and should not be looked down....the driver makes the different....

anyway, may i ask which workshop good at KIA cars or specifically picanto? think going back to C&C will be more costly?

hello all picanto owners, my sister got one picanto 1.1 auto i think, she complaint that going at 85km/h the car feels like floating, other than changing to larger rims and wider tyres, any other remedies?

i think its 13 or 14 inches rims....

thanks in advance for all inputs!

Got...ask your sister to grow fatter.... [laugh]

Supercharged

i last time had a picanto, 150km/hr at nsh also no floating feeling at all, car stable, had a spoiler with 195/60/15 tyres.

Really? I just sat in a Picanto a few days back. The driver was cruising at almost 110km and the rpm.... 6k readline! [laugh]

It's a manual Picanto. maybe the engine is smaller.

you can try harmony motors, they specialise in korean car ... i must say theirs are not the cheapest around but i find their workmanship is good enough at least to me. anyway pica parts are cheap and common, you can buy parts from ming ghee and go to your fav ws.

you might also ask the ws to check on the auto gear box maybe change the atf if just bot used, seen a couple cases auto gearbox got some problem.

at 5th gear, cruising at 110km/hr, the rpm is slightly more than 3000 only! i refer to the manual one, not sure about auto.

Get a fat boyfriend.

:D

Interesting....Maybe that's why those fat people that i know drive one. Their weight alone can stabilize the car.

The Picanto is a stupid car. There are no safety features. Drive at your own risk.

I believe Picanto cruising speed was 85-90km/H, not 110km/H (one reason I did not buy it, although the brakes impressed me during the test-drive). Beyond manufacturer's designed cruising speed, the engine can not last. Soon the owner/driver disappointed the engine seems to start losing its power (one reason I no longer buy below 1.0L engine cars).
