ERP IU Issue

When start engine, IU can read cashcard, second time try again IU "dead"(show no value no light lit up).. any bro have such encounter and advice?

No more warranty as car is more than 5 years..

Is the IU working if you only start engine once?

 

Or IU totally spoilt?

Are you still using the old, fat IU? My old, fat IU behaves the same too, I believe it doesn't concern the engine but the unit itself. Old aldy.

Maybe you can try another cash card. I had the same problem and I tot it was the IU. I decided to borrow a relatively new cash card and it works immediately.

 

Bought a new card and so far no issues

Did yr car/ IU just turn 5 yr recently. Seem like a common problem a few of my friends and I had. Just thinking that these IUs are preprogrammed to expire after 5 yrs. Had to pay $150 to get a replacement at STA. STA IU technician said old IU internal memory gone. Managed to get in & out of some erp carparks FOC because of this. But decided to replace IU because I was more worried about the ERP gantries fines.

Ya... I always park at a certain carpark in town because the gantry never fails to NOT sense my ERP and still open the gate for me.

But just kena at ERP gantry during the weekend, still waiting for letter to appeal.

Its usually the cash card as it can no longer lock into place. The material sucks and usually warps under the hot sun when left in the car. You can go down to Vicom or STA and get them to check your ERP IU unit for free. If nothing is wrong, they will issue you a letter and you can use that to appeal to LTA immediately. Just take a photo of it and send an email to them with your particulars. I had the same problem a few months back and did that, LTA waived everything for me with the advise of getting a new cash card immediately.
