Alfa 159 Part III. (any alfa discussion welcomed too)

hi,

i'm looking to buy a used 159, can someone enlighten me as to how many variants/facelift/etc of the 159 are there throughout the years?

 

any advices for an Alfa newbie for like me?

there is 17in multispoke diamond cut version pre 2009

Q2 17 inch flower rims with Brembo BBK 305mm 2009-2010

Q2 18 inch rims with 330mm Brembo 2010 - 2011

QV 18 inch turbin rims with 330mm brembo and lowered springs. 2011-2012.

 

there you go...

I used to have the part number.. but I can't recall where I put it.

better to call in to EA and ask.

 

Sorry, Q2s are in 305mm, QVs are 330mms.

Available from stockists or Brembo dealers. Serious. Just tell them you want it.

Just to add on. Mine is the QV with 18 inch 5-horseshoe rims and lowered springs and 330mm brembo bbk. Just before the current turbine rim variant. Circa jun 2010 to Feb 2011 I think.

this one OMV low likely import in before mid 2009 or even early 2009 where EURUSD goes from 1.60 to below 1.30

 

which is like now too [laugh]

 

explain why now the BMW 523 all mid 40ish k OMV too

FYI May/June 2009 Alfa 159 was the cheapest @ $89,000!! some lucky bros here bought at this price [;)]

 

thus like what sabre say, $97,000 might be the cost price

Anyone has use Torco SR5, 5W40 for Alfa 159? This is a very good engine oil, just checking whether whether Alfa can use this engine oil. It is a 100% Synthetic Racing Oil.

I have used it, but on a similiar block as the 159. Very good. Ultra smooth and heat management. After 7000km it feels like regular oil by then. But it was on a turbocharged engine doing much higher numbers than the 159.

 

It will not harm the 159 engine. How often do you change oil?
