SimplyTWL 1st Gear April 15, 2012 Share April 15, 2012 Any bros can advice the rough pricing i should expect for getting workshop help to check and clean Throttle body? Was quoted about SGD$60 for doing a check and cleaning of Throttle body + MAF sensor. Wow! I offer to do it for you for just $30 want? Hahaa, kidding bro.. Can DIY and save up that $60. Throttle body and MAF sensor may be the reason but not always.. As you mentioned, you recently changed EO and done servicing. Did you check your engine oil level? Too much EO, more than the "F" on the dipstick can cause engine to lose power. Something to do with the engine compression rate.. yada yada.. So you might want to check on that in the morning before you start your engine. If thats the case, either u DIY and draw some of the EO out or head to a workshop ask them to do it cheap cheap. Hope it helps.. ↡ Advertisement

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 15, 2012 Share April 15, 2012 Afternoon's temperature high.. Confirm lost power compared to night. Bcos cold air contain more oxygen molecules which is better for combustion.. :) I am wondering if the ram air intake can be the issue, besides ignition (raining almost every day, the last few days). Yattokame 4th Gear April 15, 2012 Share April 15, 2012 Why nobody suggest the handbrake? Need to disengage. The car will go a lot faster and that terrible smoke and smell will be gone too, says Homer Simpson. Just kidding :)

XALmoN Neutral Newbie April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 carburetor cleaner, spray into your intake pipe. start engine. run it for awhile, 10-15mins till operating temp. engine off, disconnect battery, go in the car, tap on the brakes, and do whatever that uses power, wait 5mins. reconnect battery, start engine, go for a 10-15min drive. you have reset your ecu, and cleaned your MAF and TB. Count_duku 4th Gear April 24, 2012 Share April 24, 2012 Do you hear any change in engine note during acceleration? For my acceleration issues, I could hear the engine note becoming "deeper" but the car doesn't accelerate even when I floor it (ok the car accelerates but slower). I changed the air-filter as well as cleaned the MAF sensor, changed oil and other stuff. Finally it was the inlet/intake camshaft sensor solenoid that was replaced, after that ok. 200-300 bucks to replace the cylinder shaped steel thingy. I think this component applies to VVT engines. Shor 1st Gear April 24, 2012 Share April 24, 2012 Feeling my car has slightly sluggish acceleration. Usually i just need to depress abit to move off or maintain cruising speed (of 80km).......but recently kinda feel i need to depress significantly more to maintain speed or accelerate compared to my past few months of drive. -Checked tyres air pressure alright -engine oil changed to Mobil One green for a month liao......along with oil filter changed -CVT oil dealer changed for me 6mths ago which was about 12000km before - Petrol using the same throughout past 4mths - Air filter using K&N and i washed it about 8000km (4mths) ago. What could possibly cause for less drive power? What petrol you use?
