Somebody 1st Gear April 27, 2012 Share April 27, 2012 I'm quite upset that he's leaving. Agree w what Arsene wenger said. The Barcelona philosophy has to be bigger than what happened this week. And guardiola is the champion of the philosophy. It would have been nice to see him go through a rough patch and come back and stick to the philosophy and win again. Damienic 5th Gear April 27, 2012 Share April 27, 2012 He's leaving the game at the peak. Best remembered for winning 3 la ligas and 2 champs league for Barca. What more can he achieve? He's taking a break and after he has it, its time for a new challenge.

Kelloggs 1st Gear April 27, 2012 Share April 27, 2012 To me, he is not a proven coach. He has the privilege of taking over a squad that came through the youth ranks of paying together and the current best player in the world. The success he has now is just like Kenny Dalglsh in the late 80s, when he took over a squad that w the best then because they played together for many years. Same when he took over Blackburn, a squad with the best England striker then plus years of playing from lower divisions. It's clear now this guy know nuts about coaching, just lucky Examples of competent managers would be like Martin o'Neil, Rafael Benitez...

Yuan 6th Gear April 28, 2012 Share April 28, 2012 That's what I think too Not many can replace Ferguson but I think Pep is one of them who can. I would still prefer Jose Mourinho as he is a proven coach with FC Porto, Inter-Milan and Chelski (to a certain extent).

Guardiola is a familiar figure with the Barca squad, senior players and then up and coming ones together with backroom staff. However, having said that, credit has to be given to him because a coach really needs or has some form of tactics and skills and management to get a squad together with play as a unit. Sad to say and not to put names here, some of the English teams cannot even gel as a squad and play together and certainly the coaches may haven not figured that out or they are still in a delusion. Genes 6th Gear April 28, 2012 Share April 28, 2012 Yea pep has to prove himself able to succeed with other clubs with perhaps far less resources. Then maybe he will get the respect as a great coach. As of now, I think perhaps even sundram can win the la liga with that squad...
Yuan 6th Gear April 28, 2012 Share April 28, 2012 No matter what. I'm quite worried that Chelsea will win bayern :( I like Chelski to win so that Matteo can prove a point to Roman that monies cannot buy back champions league trophy.

Kelloggs 1st Gear April 28, 2012 Share April 28, 2012 Perhaps I should not say Rafa is competent as he is weak in managing squads. His strength is in tactics, if looking at his early Liverpool years and the successful Valencia squad he has led in early 2000s. I guess he has achieve a couple of results in Liverpool which no other Pool managers could claim in last 20 years. Benitez is the most over-rated manager. Screws up everywhere he went. He'll do better managing a championship side
