How much can COE drop? [confused] The most drop back to 50K level only. <_<

50k level I will consider. But 50k Cat A or Cat B is the question. Cat B 50k, I will hoot without thinking. Cat A 50k, I will think twice.

I suspect got lots of others like me camping in the sidelines. Not old enough to be wise & prudent; not young enough to be too poor. COE dip a bit and all will rush in. Lots of my colleagues who missed the 50k COE period also camping! [laugh]

Sorri, i am refering cat A 50K, cause i only can afford to buy Cat A car. :D But 50K for Cat A still very expensive for me, i am only willing to pay if the COE drop to 25K-30K level. Cause i know COE will not go back to 10K or below level, so if the COE can hover around 20K to 30K would be good. [grin]

Scrap COE but keep ARF & PARF.

ERP during peak period should be calculated as follows:

If rolling 3 mths average speed falls below:

70km/h: $10

60km/h: $20

50km/h: $30

40km/h: $40

< 40km/h: $50

Confirm traffic smooth like butter.

If given a choice, you rather not do it ?

few would volunteer for 2.5yr (plus few weeks/year for subsequent 10yrs+)

imprisonment with hard labour, albeit with Sundays and half Saturdays off for good behaviour.

so no, of course not.

Don't cut off the means for those who need personal transport for children, sick parents, or earning a living. Give us a chance to earn a living, and that means getting to workplace in as much comfort as possible for the price we are willing to pay. Once can turn up for work means can get paycheck at end of month.

You can achieve all these with taxies right?

Do your sums and it will be even cheaper than owning, maintaining, operating and depreciating a car over 10 years!

So why even need a car?

Cos your colleagues and neighbors have issit?

Snob appeal with the Joneses?

Come off it!

9. Build more naturally shaded bicycle paths into CBD and shopping areas. Get the car park operators to run coin lockers in all MRT stations and malls for foldable bicycles.

If want to encourage a cycling culture, MRT stations, shopping centres and office buildings need more shower facilities (those open to the general public can charge per entry?). Gyms can also think about opening up their shower facilities as well.

on the contrary, the govt will stand to benefit

there is a demand for COEs that is why the price is now so high

back in 08 when there was no demand, COEs dropped to $2 even

if they released more COEs then, how much more $$ will they bring in?

but if they released more COEs now, what would the profit be?

do you really think that prices would come down? don't forget on average every year we import over 100k foreigners; if just 1% of these foreigners decide to buy cars every year it would mean we will need to give 1k COEs to foreigners every year just to keep up with the demand

1k COE = 1 month's cat a bidding

That is why I mentioned COE need to be tweaked for "fairer play".

In fact just today in Parliament, Minister Lui in response to a MP question about COE, says "(car) buyers still preferred motor dealers to bid on their behalf for convenience and sometimes to take advantage of better package deals".. [rifle]

I don't know where he got that BS from. <_<
