If you are young like me, most of the hip kids don't go platinum anymore, now go Union Mall, take MRT to Phahon Yonthin, just outside the MRT station.

Prices just slightly higher den Platinum, but don't need to buy so many to get discounts and a much nicer shopping experience.

But shopkeepers there don't speak as much english yet as customers still mostly Thai.

Hypersonic

If you stay around Pratunam area, can go try the Chinese restaurant at Grand Diamond hotel. Sharkfin for 600 bahts, abalone 900 bahts. Slightly more expensive than Yaowarat but convenience and better ambiance.

Not forgetting the wanton mee, just beside Glow hotel.

Anyone been to Dream World In Bangkok? Read up some not too bad reviews but was wondering how come those tour companies never mention it at all?

Planning a free n easy family trip coming Dec. Other than visiting floating n railway markets is also thinking of going there coz of the teenage kids.

now have to be careful what you eat [sweatdrop]

...

Because there is a lot of generic drug manufacturing in thailand, these generics are easily available, and most times no prescription is needed. Even viagra and cialis and all those naughty stuff can be purchased over the counter cheaply, and not at the tremendously inflated prices charged here.

Good and bad.

Good - actually it doesn't cost much to manufacture the drugs, and pharma companies are reaping exorbitant profits by charging inflated prices for their "original" stuff. Generics made in countries like thai and india, perfectly the same.

Bad - the country is awash with cheap generics, cheaper even than going to clinic to get diagnosis and prescription - so people tend to self-medicate leading to the problem stated in the article.
