Just bring whatever invoice you had paid plus the supporting documents of the value of the package to small claims. It's not a difficult process. Ppl there will help you. Just try to claim back whatever you can. Dun let it go just like that. Thks bro. I will check with my friend whether he wants to go to the SCT. If go SCT means once compensated, cannot pursue the whereabouts of the item anymore right? The other half of the item with my friend now is useless without the other. The doorstep delivery on the odd days are quite impt for me. VPost or Speedpost delivery seemed very eager to just throw the delivery advice at my door and expect me to collect during office hours. Last time I still can just redirect to a post office near my workplace. Just recently VPost started to impose charges for redirecting to another post office. Thats a big reason why Singpost svc gone down alot nowadays! Even their regular snail mail delivery is being outsourced to housewives on bicycles. Usually DHL ok lah. Once in country, usually they deliver the same day. Shipping from USA usually takes 3-4 days. But similarly, I've read horror stories from all 3 (comgateway, borderlinx or vpost). I see a parallel with SMRT where profit is priority. Nowadays go to post office look at the signboard.....simi-sai also can do. Think if they use DHL or FedEx, their staff are equipped to handle and track the items and also more professional in handling customer's delivery requests. For SingPost, I think they just want to maximise profit and don't want to maintain a professional delivery team. Just for comparison purposes, I paid S$24.32 for Vpost shipping of 1pc Motorola Xoom tablet in Jun'2012. There was no GST amount because the total value is below S$400. I think this cost is quite ok.
