ppl choose it stay in landed because its shiok.. not because its lucrative

of course its shiok. but if really so shiok why still must come back singapore everyday work. Sit there shake legs retire already. or can work kopitiam there part time. if I didn t read wrongly he seemed to have spent more than the profits he made. Tore down the thing did reno n all. And if you realize alot of people will still send their kids back to singapore to study also. So at the end of the day shiok is shiok lah, but certain things still need to come back to singapore. People still want to come back make money maintain their lifestyle there. So is not 100% shiok. :D

Agree. That bugger with JB corner terrace and swimming pool will actually have pretty low bragging rights.

Cannot compare with a D10 CCR, FH landed in SG.

No need GCB. Semi-D in said prime district will already beat him hollow.

What kind of satisfaction living in solitary, far from the city (errr ... JB town is not a real city hor), in a rather inaccessible part of Johor state - where personal safety and security, or the lack of it, will be one's (and family's) greatest compromise! <_<

Interesting trail but I can't see the relationship other than he seemed to have left behind a legacy of challenging issues for the next-in-line [laugh]

MBT... do transport screw up transport, do MND screw up MND

there was a ST commentary last year or so which tabulated the achievements of the past few ministers for transport...

MBT came up with unpopular stuff like COE and ERP, and corporatised SMRT.

YCT heck care land transport totally... concentrate on signing air and sea treaties.

RLim waited for the developments to complete... then waited for the population to increase too much before being photographed on public transport.

while a lot of people are skeptical about Lui, i think he's the best man for the job for the time being. he was deputy secretary for transport immediately after leaving the navy so he would know a fair bit about MoT from a policy perspective. not to forget he has to clean up the mess created by his 3 predecessors.

just bring back the old 30% down payment policy will do.

Support fully on this notion.. I refuse to believe that paying down 45K for a 150K car (just quoting ave price) is a simple and swift decision for all car buyers. This will not deter, but will make most people think twice, about buying a used or new car. Spending almost an annual package on a freaky car that lasts for 10 years only. Funny that people take longer to think about buying a flat who has asset value. Of course, flat is costlier, but is relative.
