Penang place no longer at ibp, already moved.

As long CKT standard is above average I'm ok liao. Not a big CKT fan.

Old Airport road the one on banana leaf and the guy fries with goggles, Zion road, Pasir Panjang hawker center (one with a lot of vegetables) are all palatable to me.

The only one i find very nice is the penang style. The Penang place at Jurong Business park is not too bad!

It's nicer when the old man cook. The worst is the one at chomp chomp, long queue and really not nice

The best Char Kway Teow to me is the one at Hong Lim hawker centre. The one at Ghim Moh hawker centre is a close 2nd. Zion Rd one standard had dropped.

I agree the CKT at Hong Lim is good. But the one at Ghim Moh is so-so only, IMO.

Haha actually its been a long time since I last went to the one at GM. Maybe the standard drop liao...There is one at old airport road also not bad I feel.. [laugh]

Actually I didn't really notice who did the cooking...I just remember everytime I had it, I really enjoyed the food. But must be there by 11.45am, if not the waiting time will be really long. Chomp chomp one I didn't try. I quite like the wanton mee there though.

fei fei wanton mee is definitely over rated....follow by Katong Nasi Lemak...damned oily rice!...there's a new kampung chicken rice stall selling at IMM basement, very expensive and definitely one of the lousy chicken rice that I have eaten...very seldom chicken rice can go wrong, but this is bad and it hurt when it's so pricey..$36 for a whole chicken even more expensive than roast duck!

There are many so-called famous Bat Kut Tay also getting bad to worse......

fyi the fei fei now isn't original, the original one MIA many years liao.

Udders ice cream and lousy waffles. What's the hype? Constant human traffic ESP at the Thomson branch beside Salted Caramel

They simply make it look special by using long grain rice...nothing special...

at least those rice are supposedly healthier and costs more ....

The one at chomp chomp still that uncle or got successor? I went years ago, I think he has parkinsonism from the way he's cooking. One of the reasons why he took so long to cook. His hands are just trembling away -_-

how about the " gong cha" and " koi bubble tea ? crazy queue every time, is it so good to justify the wait ?

Well, gongcha and Koi taste better than most other bubble tea. But the market is oversaturated.

IMO a lot of stalls are overrated by TV shows which recommended them. Char kway teow the best I have tasted is by the teochew guy who used to be in Queenstown, now he's in telok blangah cresent hc(opposite the SAFRA nearest to CMPB). He only opens in the evening and sold out by 9pm. His is the best. I've tried those overrated and appeared on TV shows beats all of them hands down. I usually dun eat hum but he cook them in such a way dun eat also eat. For hum haters you die die must try.

I think the most ridiculous is the dao huay stall at old airport road HC and the funny thing is the ppl queueing are all youngsters & teens. Maybe becoz I went during weekend. I dunno what so special about it. I go to those with no queue got my dao huay and left.

MOst old airport rd stalls have a minimum standard, be it original or not as advertised the difference are hardly noticable.

9pm not really consider sold out early ba...cos telok blangah can consider an aged population dun hav many supper hunters after hours.

It's not sold out early. That's his working hours. :D But do expect to queue, not long but is worth it.

Perhaps that's why he dun appear on TV coz after working hours.
