New diesel tax should be still more than equivalent petrol but not far off. E.g 2.3k for petrol , believe similar 3 litre diesel should be more or less ard 3k

if can afford go for discovery, fortuner not a good choice

Discovery and fortuner cannot really compare, price, performance and built of the car quite a big difference.

Haven't driven the disco but did drive the freelander which was actually something very different for me (never driven big SUV before). I was giving it a serious thought but decided to go for another car as the insurance + 3.2l road tax will kill me.

Now my choices have come to the volvo XC90 and the Discovery.

 

I have test drove the volvo but not the discovery..been busy.

 

I would to hear some comments and reviews for the disco. Anyone?

Hi, I have a discovery registered 2017, it’s running on diesel. After i’ve reached the 60K mark i’ve been visiting the service centre, this will be my third at 65K. Wondering if anyone has a similar issue. I’ve followed the ‘rules’ driving frequently at 60-80km for 15 mins and have not left the car idling for long periods.
