  1. I am looking for a 7 seater SUV. Now my choices have come to the volvo XC90 and the Discovery. I have test drove the volvo but not the discovery..been busy. I would to hear some comments and reviews for the disco. Anyone? The new diesel tax next year is much better than the current one
  2. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_overview.php?CarCode=11648 Anyone saw this suv in showroom yet? Looks very much like Evoque but with a longer rear (7seater)..looking for a SUV for my dad. :) Infact i think i want this for my next car haha
  3. This appears to be the next Land Rover Discovery, hews closely to the design of the Discovery Vision Concept of 2014. In fact, you can match up almost every detail on this prototype to the concept. The SUV retains the subtle bulge that starts above the C-pillar as a tribute to the old Discovery, LR3 and LR4. The character line running from the fender vent to the edge of the taillight, the semi-floating roof design and the shape of the lights and front grille vents are all carried over from the concept as well. Outside of small proportional changes, this Discovery is a dead-ringer for its show-car predecessor. Clearly, the days of tall, upright, and boxy are numbered at Land Rover. Our spy photographer also expects this new Discovery to trade its current body-on-frame chassis for an aluminum unibody. This wouldn't be surprising as the Discovery Sport also uses an unibody chassis with a mix of aluminum and high-strength steel. Expect the future Discovery to make its debut at the end of this year or sometime in 2017 with a supercharged gasoline 3.0-liter V6 and possibly a diesel 3.0-liter V6. Rumors suggest that the current supercharged V6 may be replaced by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six from Ford, and a plug-in hybrid may also become an option somewhere down the line.
  4. http://dai.ly/x1lk89q Land Rover has shed lights on its revolutionary design of its new Discovery SUV through a short video teaser. The marque has also said that the Discovery Vision Concept will hint at the design for its Discovery models. It will also showcase a pioneering technology from the Jaguar Land Rover group on the concept car, which will make its first public appearance at the upcoming New York Auto Show. Although information is scarce at the moment, we foresee a large amount of tech gizmos to be present, such as infotainment display with touchscreen capability, electric folding chairs, etc. And hopefully, we won't have to wait too long.
  5. I think this is a very cool tech demo by LR. Its technically not a transparent hood so don't expect to see Bond's invisible car yet... but its damn functional using camera on the underside/front to project the terrain on the hood of the LR. Blardy useful I say
  6. Apparently higgs has a bosum???? LINK Can a explain?
  7. Any bros watched this just now? It was a American show of 4 men competing for the title of One Man Army based on speed, strength and intelligence. Host was a ex-SF also giving running commentary also. The four men comprised two ex-Recon Marines, a ex-SEAL Team Six operator and an Argentinian non-military MMA (mixed-martial arts) specialist and the whole idea of the show was that one by one would be eliminated through challenges until a sole winner was left standing in the end to receive a US$10k prize. One ex-Recon Marine was a mature and steady beefy dude aged 41 while the other was a cocky super fit 26 yo just returning from Iraq. The ex-SEAL Team Six anti-terrorist expert was a grand old 49 yo oldie but still looked trim and deadly. The last guy who was Argentinian spoke perfect English and was the odd ball because he had had no military background though from footages he seemed very good in MMA. Interesting plus entertaining typical American show though some of you bros especially MO might sneered at it and brush it aside
  8. Any bros following this series? Have been following it since season 1 and really to these fellows from Red Jacket. They have been converting normal small arms to all sorts of deadly configurations as accordance to customers from average Joes to private security firms. Not sure if they have gotten permission or any permit from their state or federal agencies (should have right?) to do that because they have for example converted semi-auto firing (by law) say AR15s or even Browning 50-cal HMGs to full auto modes. Which means any psycho customers can suka suka train his Browning 50-cal HMG on his neighbours to unleash hell... [sweatdrop] For a strictly gun control state like ours, it is really an eye-opener that their Constitution allow them to own guns And I thought the last time they fired a civil war-era cannon was the biggest calibre weapon they had gotten their hands on until last night when these fellas repaired a WWII-era M1 57mm AT gun and fired it. They even re-furbished the rounds themselves by filling up empty fired shell casings with explosive propellant, installed primers and topped them off with projectiles. Below is a shot of these guys firing the 57mm gun: How about that?
  9. Am currently watching the first episode of this Discovery Channel series: http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/surviving-the-cut/ VERY interesting. Came highly recommended by a friend of mine who's actually fought in war.
  10. Body stuffed in trolley bag found off Sentosa http://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/singaporesc...203607-865.html A decomposed male body was found in a luggage trolley bag in the waters off a construction site at Resorts World Sentosa on Saturday morning. The bag was found by two foreign workers and brought ashore. According to Chinese daily Shin Min Daily News, the male body had been placed inside a luggage bag and dumped at sea. According to media reports, police said the body was clothed but had no identification. The police were informed at about 8.40am, and the man was pronounced dead by paramedics at 9.15 am. The man is believed to have been dead for two to three days. The body was bloated and features were not discernible. RWS is building two hotels, a spa and maritime museum at the construction site, which is situated behind Underwater World. The police are investigating the case. Separately, a 36-year-old Chinese national was also found dead with a bloodied face in Marina Boulevard on Thursday morning. Police said a passerby alerted them at about 6 am of the body, which was lying face-up on a bench along a walkway at The Promontory@Marina Bay, reported local daily MyPaper. The man, who was pronounced dead at 6.30 am, suffered a laceration to the backof his head, said the police. They have classified the case as an unnatural death. There is no indication the death is gang-related and no weapons were found at the scene. It is believed that the man's wallet, with cash intact, was found. His haversack was also found near the body. 11. The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, usually just called the "Iditarod", is an annual sled dog race in Alaska, where mushers and teams of typically 16 dogs cover 1,161 miles (1868 km) in eight to fifteen days from Willow (near Anchorage) to Nome. The Iditarod began in 1973 as an event to test the best sled dog mushers and teams, evolving into the highly competitive race it is today. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iditarod_Trail_Sled_Dog_Race http://www.iditarod.com/ Google Earth Trail
  12. 14 years in the making and i don't even know such thing exist! should i say wow? "Will the Large Hadron Collider save the world, or destroy it? As the atom-smasher at Europe's CERN research center is readied for its official startup on Wednesday, researchers might wish that the general public was captivated by the quest for the Higgs boson, the search for supersymmetric particles and even the evidence for extra dimensions. But if the feedback so far is any guide, the real headline-grabber is the claim that the world's most powerful particle-smasher could create microscopic black holes that some fear would gobble up the planet...." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24556999/
