Currently im using esso 95

Tried few tanks on esso 98

FC is the same but more smoother

Its about $4-5 more for 40L pump

you cannot compare apple with orange. Shell's fuel is of better grade. Even the lowest range of shell 95 is good enough for enough car.

Please substantiate your claim! Or declare your vested interest!

wondered why petrol is so expensive

already got tax and then GST and then cannot fill full tank up north

why cant they reduce the price upfront rather than giving onsite discount and so on

it is all so confusing

Confusing is e whole idea. Ty make it troublesome n difficult to see at a glance who is cheapest.

Like that many say aiyah just pump shell or esso or whatever cos so difficult to keep track.

Then ty charge more still can sell n can also slowly raise price n pple wont really notice.

Not true! I used to pump Shell for many years, be it 95 or 98, but the engine always got pinging sound.

Once switch over to Esso Mobil no such sound.

Shell fuel is of better grade? I beg to differ.

Esso Whitley Road closing down. You can pick up discount coupons there. $5 discount for $50 petrol. This is on top of all station and card discounts.

I paid $36.xx for $50 petrol on the dbs esso card. Only catch is valid at only six stations around the area.

Drove 3 vehicles.

Nissan Latio, vw touran to BMW 5 series.

Shell 95 always give me the highest mileage. Spc 95 is the cheapest. Lowest mileage.

For my vw & BMW, shell 95 will have engine cold start. No such issue with shell 98. Mileage seems to be a lot lower with shell vp. Better response though.

Did mix shell 95 & spc 95 occasionally too. Realize a significant increase in mileage for spc 95 if I pump shell 95 prior to that.

No explanation. Based on years of experience.

In terms of smoothness of the drive and power delivery, in my own experience on a FD1, shell vpower > esso 95 > shell 95 = spc 92. Will probably give Esso 98 a try one day.

Tried an almost full tank of esso 98. Dont find much difference to spc 92. [hur]

To my understanding is that High Octane Fuel only for Performance Vehicle or Turbo Charged Engine... [idea]

For normal car we can use 92 or 95 not to waste extra money on 98 or V Power... [drivingcar]

We are already paying High COE, Road Tax, ERP, GST, Parking Fee, Sky High Car Price etc...just to name a few only...many more coming... [shakehead]

for me simpler... i feel tat esso gives better discounts so i go for esso... but esso 95 gives me poorer mileage dan esso 98... so from the day i found out tis, i am pumping esso98 till now...

spc 98 - engine felt smooth and full of power

esso 92 - engine felt smooth and full of power

esso 98 - engine felt smooth and full of power

shell 95 - engine felt smooth and full of power

shell 98 - engine felt smooth and full of power

caltex 92 - never tried before

caltex 95 - engine felt smooth and full of power
