I usually just apply rain-x on the side mirrors when doing it for the windscreen too...so rain just slide down the mirrors and no blurred mirrors...no need to buy la...

Hmm,... If your car side-mirrors dun have auto fold then maybe ok,...

 

Notice that the thing sticks out,... so if fold your side mirror,... sure hit window.

 

Better just to apply rain-X. Hassle free and no worries.
