Kia Sorento 2013

I seriously donno how kia can improve on this car.

They are spoiling their own market with so many features on a relatively affordable ride. thats my take.

My bro in law is stupid to choose an old Volvo xc90 over this

Btw the xc 90 has lots of problems.

It's really an under rated car, more people should know about this ride, the 2013 KIA Sorento is an excellent ride with feature rich technology found only in much higher priced rides.

Maybe because of the brand, they want to give the best in their flagship ride.

I am discovering a lot of nice little thoughtful design that they designers has built into the car, the engine to me was one of the main draw as it it is an multi-award winning engine. Really powerful and butter smooth 6-Speed transmission.

I was looking at an older XC90 as well, but felt that the servicing would be a "Killer" for my pocket. I wanted something more manageable and fuss free.

I was originally looking at the earlier Sorento but it did not quite convince me 100%, until this all new improved version came out. I was sold.

Maybe its me, but one has to test drive it and pop into the showroom to try it out. I went there I think many times to be sure, I did check out other rides out there as well.

Just sharing a good fine and hope it helps others in their search for that "perfect" ride.

think K9 is really2 good but if brought here price will be too high and people would opt for E class or GS

K7 would be more appropriate to fight camry and mazda 6 :D

There will be a LWB Sorento launching next year. To be based on the Santa Fe MaxCruz / Santa Fe (USA). Not sure if it'll still be called Sorento LWB or the Borrego/ Mohave.

The car will be just below 5m long. More space for 3rd row and boot space as well.

It'll still have 2.2CRDi engine (because the MaxCruz in Korea also has it).

Went to the showroom yesterday, and found the 3rd row is a bit cramped for adults, and worse still, the 2nd row can't be moved back or forth. The sales exec told me as it's an SUV hence 2nd row is fixed?! Just can't understand that logic though.

Was pretty sold on the car's spec and exterior but now having doubt on its interior space flexibility.

On the seats not being able to trolley forwards/backwards was also a hiccup for me, because if we can trolley it, it would give the rear slight more room space.

Overall the back is really for a person under 1.5m height, maybe the LWB version next year or the following year would be helpful as it should give additional 3rd row space.

Overall, enjoying my ride very much still. Cheers and Happy New Year to all!

Want to update here, my Kia Sorento, Diesel, 2013 model, just passed the 18,000KM mark already. Smooth comfortable ride, even my customer from Indonesia whom drivces a Merc and Ferrari commented it is a torquey ride. The power is there, the features are unheard of at this category and price range. Plus full tank of fuel i get close to 800Km of drive - from a SUV? Unheard of.

My family was wondering if a KIA can really make it, Korean car...but all those Korean fears has been dispelled by all the Korean pop culture and people are more and more open to Korean products, the KIA is no different, the President of KIA used to be the Chief designer of AUDI, so you can see little traces here and there with more professional layout, color choices, design cues. Built quality has been amazing, the award winning 2.2L CDRi is - one word - WOW. AWD all day also is great, love it!

The MoonRoof - love it!

The Head Lamp pop out washer (never know it until a friend saw it when my ride was stationary) did not even know about it. - So it was a pleasant surprise.

Aircon - Dual Climatic Zone - Love it!

Can be a rugged 5 seater or a spacious 7 seater at some quick config of the seats - Love it!

The rear storage compartment - wonderful

The ample storage spaces, bottle holders! - LOVE LOVE IT!

Auto collapse side mirrors, with lights up for signal and tilts down for reverse parking.

Amazing stereo sound system - I can help but love it again!

Two front seats with power seats, drive seats come with power memory! - Me...like!

Bluetooth hands free call in-car mic and plays the call through the speakers - ingenious!

Various steering options, for the different type of drivers preference. Reverse Camera for those whom are terrible at parking...

The All-Day, Day LED lamps - fierce and nice road presence. Auto lights, cornering lights, - wow, can it get any better?

Self Parking - Yes SELF PARKING - All in a well built SUV for up to 7 seats, immense amount of torque, sorry, I should say, INSANE amount of torque!

Air-con ventilated seats, for the two front seats + all seats with heating controls for those rather chilly mornings, helps to warm your buns!

Oh....just one more thing.......It has 5 Year Free Warranty!

For a Conti car of this caliber - that would set you back by 250K and more!

I bet you can tell me more, but already with this, I am pretty exhausted already! Great ride, fantastic mileage, well built, and lots of spare parts, means easy to maintain.

My family all love the Sorento, its a little wide at first, but after awhile you learn to drive with it.

Cheers!!

actually.. most of the features mentioned is available in the Skoda Superb II except the 7 seats..

yes.. the superb 2 can self parallel park etc.. actually i'm also considering this.. the only thing stopping me is the lack of a build in GPS ala the Skoda Columbus system which provide route guidance etc via the MFD and the lack of trolley for the 2nd row.

once Kia incorporate these.. think it's bye bye to my superb combi.

I used to drive the Superb I - it was such an amazing ride.

The Kia Sorento 2013 model is amazing, it has real time AWD - similar to Quattro with all wheels driving and pushing the car forward.

Some little gimmicks that may not be found on the Superb 2, like heated steering, heats seats front and rear, aircon seats front seats only, memory side mirrors, moon-roof.

GPS - I am using my kickass HTC One max - huge screen as my GPS, lovely! no need built in, not need to keep updating, using Android so depends on personally level.

Loving the ride, as it is one big suv and each full tank of diesel, it lasts of around 700km and cost around SGD$70-80 for full tank, silky smooth transmission with turbo for the umph!

Welcome on board, I think there is a 2014 revised model out soon.

Hi, I am not sure of it, but I guess a revised design and maybe some updated features and probably longer wheel base...as it is, it is already quite a "big car" on Singapore roads.

Check out 2015 Kia Sorento for the leaks on google.

Quick update on my ride, now at 27899km later....still getting the raw light pressure turbo and torque....very speedy and zippy ride. Family has gotten used to the size. Most people whom have rode in my ride, loves it. The size, equipment level and quality as well. The features are amazing, really loving the ride.

C&C servicing is really excellent and I can book online, no fuss. So fat completed 3 servicing and am happy. Tyres are still strong and not worn as I rotate them every time I service the car.

Had a few good comments from folks driving the Honda Stream was asking me about the ride, when I started the engine, clearly he was impressed and muttered under this breath, an almost audible 'wow'. that made the night for me. He is planning to get his next ride and it was going to be a Kia Sorento..! Yeah!

By pass the badge, and you will be rewarded by a really grand SUV with tons of features and also the Kia Sorento may look like the previous generation, but it is 80% new! A lot of engineering improvements went into it. So definitely a good buy! Cheers!

And wishing all an early Happy Chinese New Year!

Looking at the mileage you clock, a diesel car really suited you most.

What is your average FC so far and your travel pattern?
