Gretel the dog

the owner is bloody selfish, handicap or otherwise.

his faithful fren has done his part, now its the owner's turn to return the favor. letting the dog go is wat's best for both of them now. rather than seeing the best fren wilting away day by day, he shd jz save Gretel some dignity. he is obviously suffering and i see one selfish owner refusing to face reality.

i sincerely hope that Gretel will be freed fr all sufferings soon. Cheers for a great dog.

Watching this really brought me to tears.

I put down my 15 year old maltese 3 days ago. He couldn't breath properly, was almost blind and got dizzy and fell to the ground while spinning around to take a crap. At night he wailed like a possessed woman and he would stare at the wall for hours on end. He would no longer even lift his head to look at people walk around him.

We contemplated for a long time as to whether to put him down or not. In the end, we couldn't let him suffer day after day, living a life of pain and misery.

It was sad day. We stayed with him for 1/2 hour giving him his favourite ear massage after the vet gave him some sedation before injecting the poison that would end his life. It was very tearful.

We have 2 one-year puppies in the house too, and I dread the day when it's their turn.

i understand ur pain. i did the same thing last sept when my dog was diagnosed wif bone cancer after he broke his leg suddenly. it was an extremely painful day for me. i was in tears when the process took place while stroking his head continuously. after he is gone, i couldn't contain myself any further and i was wailing and screaming till i almost lost conscious. he was the best friend i ever had in my life.

i feel u bro. take care. i know things will nv be the same when u open ur front doors these days.

brother, my advice is save urself from the grief when one day the dog have to go. the more u love him, the more u cannot take it. and if u can take it, then u dun love him enough.

keep fishes instead. [laugh]

Thanks man. The crying was bad at the vet's. More like uncontrollable sobbing. But the vet was pretty sensitive. She told us to take as long as we wanted to say goodbye.

He wasn't the first dog I've lost. I grew up on a huge chicken farm and my dad would offer food to any stray that came along. After that, they usually stayed. So at any one time, we had at least 6 dogs on the farm. There was a time where there were 12. All of them got along fine.

The ones who died were usually from cobra bites. They stupidly fought with cobras and lost. Some fought with other dogs and came band really badly wounded.

Those were the days...

Turbocharged

and i promise i will nv keep a dog again. never ever.

i understand your pain bro. but if we never suffer the pain and anguish of losing them, we will never feel the joy when we are with them. right?

open your heart to another one. an adopted one the best.

i was at animal lover's league the other day. so many of them waiting to be adopted. i believe one of them can be your next best friend.
