I see.! Any other freebies thrown in?

I visited the showroom about 2 weeks ago when the price was 102999 but was undecided then.

Had a call couple of days ago and was offered the old price if i placed the deposit this weekend. Went down yesterday and had the 3yr servicing package included for additional $2k.

I bought my SX at 104,999 non guaranteed COE last thurs.

According to SA, chances quite okay. So I just took the non guaranteed. No point spending 5k more for the guaranteed I feel. Yeap. Fingers crossed!

All the best! You meant the Sports Edition?

Yes, don't pay for guaranteed COEs as the bottom is still someway off.

Yup! SX is technically the deluxe edition. EX is the standard edition.

Thanks a lot man! Looking forward to join the K3 fraternity soon!!

Hey folks, congrats for getting your new car.

Be careful when turning kerbs - the rim can gash. I got some scratches due to being too close to the inner circular ramp. I recommend small convex mirrors to help guide you.

rear right wheel rim kana already hahaha now gotto turn more carefully

hehe just use some sand paper and smoothen the area, polish it abit and respray clear coat, will look as good as new :)

i'm wondering if those rim protectors made of rubber tape actually works. one it and it comes off? but will the rims be protected against damage when the hit happens.

Nope. To have the 3 years servicing package, you'll have to take the guaranteed pricing which is 108,999.

I managed to get the paint protection system and the eurostyle multimedia system. Also, I didn't have a car to trade in but the SA still have me the trade in discount which was $3000. Yup. :) are you planning to get a K3 too?

Bro, you've got a good deal there... with no car trade in but still have $3K off.. you took the in house loan right?

I'm not taking the in-house loan but have car trade in , will try to wrest some $$ from my Salesman too ... Any special "skills" you've used to get this discount? [:p] or he auto give to you this trade in $3k off ??

the 3 yrs servicing package I also intended to forgo as they have a 18 mths / 3 times normal servicing (SS20) at $689 , so to get the equivalent servicing for 3 years, we can get 2X of this normal servicing at $1378 which is cheaper than the $2K top up for the non-guaranteed package. Only question now is the servicing contents of the $2k 3 yrs servicing package vs this normal $689 package.. this I will find out and get back to you guys...

I'm looking at the non-guaranteed package too... hopefully can secure at $104,999 too with car trade in but no in house loan.

Buy or dun buy .... yet.... [dizzy]

Ahhh... bro.. you paid for the $2K servicing package la.. but got at the old non-guaranteed price... good for you! So its equivalent of taking at current $104999 but 3 yrs servicing package thrown in.. [:p]

For me I told the guy that I'm buying a car first time. So I don't have a car to trade in. Yeap. I think can be done one. Just whether he's willing to "fight" for you? Yup. Maybe you can tell him that if he can do that for you then you'll confirm on the spot? Cos usually they want you to commit because once you walk out of the door they might lose. A potential customer. So they might try their best to secure your buy. Yeap.

Anyway I was asking my SA if I should top up 2k for 3 years servicing. He advised me not to top up 2K cos he said don't really save much cos they only cover engine oil, oil filter, ATF and coolant. Yeap. that's what he advised me. I'll probably speak him again once my COE gets confirmed and my car is arriving soon. Yeap. Hope it helps bro. Waiting for you to join the K3 fraternity! Hoping that my non guaranteed package can guarantee me a car soon. Hahah. Huat ah!

Any K3 owners here who booked the non guaranteed package secured their COE within 6 bids on recent months?

I wanted to book the K3 EX at $95K but the Sales Consultant said that I am unlikely to secure COE unless Cat A falls to $50K or less (COE rebate level @ $50K). He also said that the trade in value for my existing car would be lower if I do not take the guaranteed package which costs an extra $4K. Not sure if this is a sales trick?

I am not in favor of paying an extra $4K for guaranteed COE. Why allow Cycle & Carriage to push up COE prices at the expense of our hard earned money?

Anyone here got your K3 on non guaranteed COE package recently?

yep, I've got the non guaranteed COE package at the 1st bid about 2-3 weeks ago. Was also undecided and the price went up within a week, the SE then offered to give the previous week price at 103,999 non guaranteed + 3 year servicing thrown in.

Turbocharged

Seems like many of you went for the SX which costs an additional $10K over the EX.

Most people would argue the K3 is only worthwhile if you pony up for the SX.

I mean you are spending about a $100k on a car already might as well go for the top spec if possible unless you dun see the need or otherwise cash strapped for the higher installments.

Car cost for SX is 38991, with COE of about 57k that puts the total cost at around 96k. Now you just need to figure out the profit margin that Kia is willing to take. If 8k, then 104k is likely to get COE during the next bid if COE doesn't go up too much.

You need to see the OMV of the 2 models. The SX Sports OMV is easily 5-6k more than the EX.

For that 10K difference, the SX is a no brainer far better value than the EX.

Seriously, its not as if the EX costs $50k and the SX costs 100k, if you're already prep to pay $100k for an econobox, its is only natural you want your econobox to have as much extras from the factory as possible, and I don't mean more fake wood, chrome and fake leather.

SX features that the EX doesn't have.

- Factory sunroof... although if you're really tall, the sunroof do use headliner space and u will find even less headroom than before. But you can always open the sunroof and stick your head out for max headroom space hahahaha...

- HID headlamps. This thing should be standard a long time ago. LED DRLs plus old style halogen headlamps just looked odd.

- Bigger 17" factory wheels. EX 16" wheels are locally fitted.

- dual zone climate control with LG Air Purifier. The EX 3 manual knobs looks super cheap and taxi like. And you loose the LG air purifier as a result.

- Full color LCD screen in the instrument cluster and electro-luminance gauges.

- Auto headlamps.

- Heated/ Vented and powered driver seat with 2 memory function. You can't even get this in the base Camry 2L and have to pay even more for the Camry 2.5 if u want this.

- Factory Bluetooth connection. A must have for safe driving while talking on your phone.

- VSC, traction control, hill start assist. You cant even get this in the base Camry and Accord 2.0. And no Camries nor Accord featured hill start assist no matter how much you are willing to pay.

- 6 airbags, please don't say airbags are not important. That's NTUC Comfort Delgro speak.

- Better sound insulation. It is not stated, but if u test drive both cars back to back, the SX is indeed quieter.

That's a quite a lot of money to buy.

Except for VSC/TC/HSA and 6 Airbags, the rest are cosmetic replacement of existing functions.

Difference in OMV between EX vs SX is $2.7k according to sgcarmart, plus the extra $2.7k ARF payable, the SX cost about $5.4K more to AD, but they markup x2 to $10K.

$10K is like almost FREE 2 years of COE!

the cost to the AD may be much lower, but the value to the customer if you can get these separate items installed separately is > 10k, plus the free servicing worth "2k"

of course if you dont find the extras attractive, the EX is an excellent deal 10k cheaper keke
