Hi! just taken delivery of a K3 EX. Just wondering if its possible to turn on only the rear fog light without switching on headlights and front fog light? The stock speakers sounds abit hollow, any recommendations on how to improve the sound without changing the mortrex? Thanks!

I don't think you can switch on the fog light without switching ON the headlights switch.

As for speaker, just replace your speaker to those Co-axial type will improve the SQ and it's not expensive.

Why do you want to turn on only the rear fog light? It’s very glaring to motorist behind you

Yeah why only want to switch on rear fog lamps? If you're afraid that the cars behind you can't spot you because of the unusually heavy downpours we've been getting then it also means your headlights and front fog lamps should be all on... that's why the fog lamps are all tied to the headlights being on or off...

Nothing wrong with MIC. The eurostyle HU is pretty good imo. Seems to be much more flexible.

Someone sellIng the Euro HU from his old K3 in carousell... I wonder if the connectors are compatible to our mortrex or do I need to rewire everything

On the topic of rear fogs, many still switch it on during a clear night. Super irritating.

On my SX, the front speakers actually have tweeters just below the windscreen. Not sure if EX has tweeters? So if want upgrade the front may need 6.5" component speakers even though coaxials can work. Rear speakers get coaxial 6.5". A better upgrade would be to add in amplifiers and subwoofer to strengthen the sound and low frequencies.

Alamak bro, i tot i gave u a cheap solution.

Simply put up an offer here, to swap HU.

Both party just merely pay any audio shop for installation fee. Settled

U don't hv to spend to buy euro HU and sell yours.

Unless really none interested.

On the topic of rear fogs, many still switch it on during a clear night. Super irritating.

 

Some people don't even know how to operate their car.

 

- cars driving around at night with no headlights, cos dashboard lighted up so driver think headlights are on

- clueless about dashboard lights, don't even know front and rear fog lights are switched on

 

Worst one is those driving conti car, signal left and turn right, signal right and turn left, because the signal stalk changed from right side to left side. Don't laugh, I seen it happen more than twice since start of Jan

Lotsa young drivers getting their licenses without going to a proper driving school.. i have heard of people getting their driving license after just a few sessions with a private driving instructor!

My previous avante had signal stick on right side so I generally drive using only right hand. When got SX, a few times want to signal left/right but turn on the wipers instead. When SE explain the light functions during handover I blur like sotong. Have to drive to carpark test each light to see what it did

 

Signal one direction but turn the other direction is invitation to accident !

 

When having super heavy rain I may turn on just front fog lights. If main headlights turned on the rear lamp cluster will light up red, should be visible to others. When press brake pedal the red becomes brighter as the second filament lights up.

The rear fog lamp is deliberately made to be piercing red, so that you can see it in foggy conditions, or even very heavy rain... it is especially useful driving on highways where the car coming from behind you maybe much faster than you are but can't see your regular red rear lights due to the foggy conditions... otherwise they would see your car too late and slam into your back... front fog lamps are different - they're made low and at the sides to illuminate the lane markings so that in foggy conditions where visibility is very low, you can keep to your lane and not stray into the neighbouring lanes causing a collision... understand why we have front and rear fog lamps and use the fog lamps for the right reason... in the past we seldom need rear fog lamps but with the increasingly crazy weather patterns these have become essential too... Some people from other countries get driving license easily by paying $ undertable. When come to SG just convert and take theory tests w/o any practical tests.(My fren from Kuching M'sia is like that) Some don't even know how to drive safely cuz not used to SG road conditions and so become hazard to other drivers.

 

For those going to private instructor, the objective is to get license using least amount of sessions, instead of learning how to drive safely by taking many practical lessons and getting used to SG road conditions. Cuz the more sessions taken the more expensive it becomes. If students can take few lessons yet get lic, reputation of private instructor increases, get more students => more $$.

 

Whereas if take proper course from driving school, the syllabus is structured and must attend a minimum amount of practical lessons before taking tests. Though course fee usually more expensive than private instructor, the skills learnt are for a lifetime that help student drive safe and also safe for other drivers.

That's why some people can't park front in nor not taught in the driving syllabus... or still can't park parallel despite the lessons... or drive at the wrong speed on the wrong lanes...

Thanks bro for enlightening me on front and rear fog lamps.. couldn't figure out the rear fog lamp usefulness since SG no thick fog! ><

It's very useful when driving overseas. In those conditions, you can only see maybe 10m in front, and the only hint that there is a car infront is the 2 red fog lights...
