Yattokame 4th Gear March 20, 2015 Share March 20, 2015 (edited) went a couple of places in Dubai first of all, my fave Christian Louboutin boutiques..... really satisfying to see so many men's shoes compared to the small one in sg Then Burj Kalifa....tallest building in the world then at SKI dubai which is in the mall itself Fancy outdoor dinner at the address hotel, next to Dubai mall - biggest shopping mall in the world. Enjoyed the musical fountain which plays every 30mins. Had the table which stares right at the fountain. Went out to sea on my sis' craft after breakfast didn't look at watches here. USD strong so AED follows. Just had a great time with the family and celebrating our kids' birthdays together (all within the same week). first time at Dubai.....but it has wow-ed me many times over. Considering this place was just a desert not too long ago, it's nothing short of a miracle. Customer service was really top-notch compared to what we get in sg. cars are.....cheap. petrol even cheaper. A full tank about 65L costs just....$50sgd? my BIL told me a new aventador costs what - 400ksgd? NO INCOME TAX. I repeat. NO INCOME TAX. Foreigners can own property here too. a 2 storey apartment about 2500 sq feet in a decent area costs about 800k sgd as I'm told by the locals here. international schools aplenty. pork and alcohol are available without much difficulty too. March is prob the best time to be here due to the weather so I have not experienced the worst. If you have good passive income this could be a place to consider. just 7.5hr flight to sg if you miss the char kway teow or bak chor mee. one more time...... Yattokame 4th Gear March 21, 2015 Share March 21, 2015 (edited) I got poisoned deeply by T2 on gold watches. As much as we say it is orbit......Rolex IS known for its gold watches, isn't it? I look at them more as a signature piece......a really a sign of achievement. I will definitely get one in the future. Even better if it's a birth year watch....and of course T2 will help me with this right? hahaha..... btw, gold and diamonds are cheaper in Dubai. Credit suisse PAMP gold bar 5g is $300sgd. Black pudding.....made from pig's blood? then went watch shopping....didn't go to Dubai mall; was at mall of the emirates instead didn't manage to ask prices for these cufflinks this is insane never thought i'd e able to see one in the flesh prices for watches aren't that fantastic. BIL told me they probably think I'm PRC so they didn't give me a good price. Anyway didn't expect to buy anything anyway. Yeah one full tank about $50? For 65L. 1.5mil can get a villa. Built in 3,500sqft. Nope its at abu dhabi and i lazy to go hahaha almost 2hrs drive away? Really a very relaxed trip. Most of the time spent indoors playing with the kiddos. Then our folks cook dinner, afterwhich my sis and BIL drive us out to the mall for shopping (closes at 1am on weekends!) The 1st stop was I just took the watch next day than I wind a few rounds and wear daily but each day parking in drawer is less than 12 hrs. Pls help. Your watch probably has not been fully wound. Try this. 1. Shake the watch to get it going 2. Wind crown about 10-15 revolutions 3. Wear normally for a day 4. Let it sit and observe the power reserve. Should be about 1.5 day for older Rolexes. Ok just winded and let's see how long it last. What if it stop again? The shop I bought from, they got bring to RSC on Nov 2014,normally bring in to RSC they besides do verify and will do servicing too right cos the shop got give me the receipt from RSC and it's bill is $107. As i always say, RSC verification is a waste of time and money. $107 for them to open the back case and remove bracelet to check for 3 mins? Power reserve cant drop like that.
