To change van?

Asking on behalf of my friend. He has a van with a COE expiring in Dec this year. Its a diesel van. Should he buy a new van now, or should be renew his COE for 5 or 10 years. Seems like there are some new rules regarding commercial vehicles. Any advice or can someone point me to some url with the relevant information.

very much depend on the condition of his current van...if trouble free...why not renew the COE..

Can buy 5yrs then renew for another 5years(New rule). I only foresee Cat C keep going up due to dealer manipulating the premium as they need to clear off their Euro 4 stock. Maybe after next year will come down. Van do not have PARF value, so basically just scrap it once COE subside and get the balance COE value back. Only issue now is to pay upfront $34k+ for a 5yrs and prepare to go for twice annual inspection.

The govt is fuelling inflation in times to come. How can increase the population but at the same time reduce logistic supply?

Did a quick check for leasing recently, a Fiat Doblo Maxi cost S$1,900.00 per month for a 5 year contract.

 

1 set of tyres per year, no windshield coverage.

Agree with palmer. The introduction of EURO 5 just make it harder. too exp to change.

 

TS I would suggest ur friend max 10 yr renew. If law is in his favour and sell also can fetch better value
