Followup to the issue with vibration on idle on my 2011 Swift.

Finally resolved by the aircon mech!!!

He topped up the oil for the aircon compressor and issue resolved. He said this will resolve the vibration as t he compressor is 'heavy'

Hi hummer,

Which aircon shop you went to?

Is your problem the same as mine? Compressor cut in got vibration?

Kim Aircon at Ubi BLK 3023A.

Yes, when stationary and when aircon compressor starts working, there is a vibration. Can hear and feel it.

I went to uncle kim as aircon was not cold. He checked gas pressure etc and told me gas and oil low. I highlighted to him about the vibration when aircon kicks in and he said it was due to oil for compressor low.

Surprisingly, it was indeed true. Vibrations have reduced drastically and no more vibration sound.

You can try it and report back.

Cost me $30.

Recently went service for my 10 years old latio. Changed engine mounting and new battery. Vibration gone! Engine almost as new. More responsive and able to accelerate smoother. Engine is a lot quieter also

No. Fly by wire can cut the wire and shorten it to adjust the throttle body. e-Throttle cannot. All control by ECU.

Please don't say this in the international car forums. If you must, please don't say you are from Singapore.

Bro, I vomited litres of blood trying to explain to him that dbw is e-throttle, but he insists the "wire" in drive-by-wire refers to steel wire used in old-school cars. Let's see if you can do better than me.

Bro,

Could you elaborate on what he did? Did he evacuate the aircon gas and refilled it? How about the compressor oil? Or is it a 2-in-1 (oil and gas together).

for discussion sake, let's just accept his "fly by wire" definition but only within this topic.

no need to waste gas.

I saw 2 separate gas canisters, topped up to different lines.

Not sure what you mean by evacuation, but he did a topup coz it was empty

Hi,

how does changing the engine mounting result in a more responsive engine?Asking because i am driving a 10yr old latio also.Acceleration can be really sluggish at times and the FC is really bad. I was thinking if changing the spark plugs might help

If it's never changed, engine mounting needs to be changed. 10 years is very long already.

Not exactly sure how, but the vibration can have effects on several other components.

But 10 years car various problems will arise, sometimes hard to pinpoint.

If you have never change the mounting before, it is time to change. It will do big difference on the engine especially on virbrations issues. What i did after servicing is to pour techron concentrate to further clean the engine (may need 2 bottles). Ask your mechanics regarding the engine mounting.
