COE issue

Hi Bros,

 

Just want to check if I deregister my ride. Will I be able to get my full rebate in cash/cheque? I understand previously, we can only get a paper which can be used to offset my car purchase.

Mine car juz was respray and changed out all wear and tear about less then 2.5 yrs ago while i wait for opportunity to buy COE

But the COE only kept on climbing.. ta ma de..

Anyhow i will monitor for another 3 more mtns, but chances of scrapping it is higher

Better wise use the parf for another car and move on

You mean you want to pay close to $80K for PQP (75% loan) just to drive a 10-yr old car for another 10 years ... and lose $20K PARF in the process?

Your total opportunity cost will be close to $100K!

On top of that, you'll pay a higher road tax, incur higher FC (old engine), go for inspection annually, only third-party insurance (no insurance company will insure you for the COE amount only) - so if you wreck the car, you either LLST incur 100% repair cost yourself, or scrap it - only to get back pro-rata residual COE.

In short, insurance company will not compensate you with fair market value, if it's considered a write off case!

What about spare parts availability for the model? Still supported by workshops?
I am talking about specific engine parts, glass and replacement body panels, if damaged and unrepairable.

For a $100K opportunity cost and all the embedded encumbrances, forget it lah.
Just get a used car.

Or consider public transport and save money?
