2015 Lexus NX

I don't think Lexus started with producing a noisy car and stuff it with a lot of sound proof/deafening to begin with. If you go knock the door of the previous gen GS, it doesn't seems like they put in any extra sound proof there. The facelifts ES has added sound proof at the firewall from what I read of the marketing material.

IIRC there was similar complain in the US around engine noise on the NX from some owner as well but cannot remember if they complain about wind noise also which is something I can't stand as well.

For the GS they get Yamaha to tune the air intake sound. All air intake make noise, they just make the noise nicer imo which is fine to me. ;)

I dunno.... RX200t has the same engine as NX200t, but it is somewhat more silent when I test drove them back to back.  The RX200t also have sound absorption front glass windows that NX don't have.  But RX is like driving a tank... can feel the weight...

I think coming from a 6 cylinder (IS250, 523i) to a 4 cylinder,  I was expecting some form of sacrifice in terms on engine noise "feel".  But I have an E250 now which is 4 cylinder too, but the engine is so much more nicer and smoother and quieter  than NX.  So I think if Lexus do take feedback seriously, next NX facelift they jolly better do something about the NVH.

I tried to fit my thick and plush IS250 carpet to the normal looking thin carpet of the NX (trying to reduce SOME noise).  Does not fit properly... too bad....

Yes, NX there is tire roar (PIE/KPE/AYE, anywhere lah) and slight wind noise (>100km/h, NS highway).... the service consultant said SUV is "like that".  Everything is "like that" to them.  My foot.

Only if GLC250 come out earlier.....
