Wah nice job on the Rear AC mod.. May I know done at which workshop huh.. Damage is?

Hi Digthis1,

Photos to show Foon's no-horse-run worksmanship as already mentioned by bro Jaffa.

For just aircon mod, I cannot advise $ as it was part of a 2 mths job.

I did ask him to do for 1-2 forester bro but he was not keen and I could not get min pax of 5 for group $ of sgd500 excluding vents that you need to find suitable ones for your cars .. I bought 4 types from Audi A6, VW Tiguan, Merc S class and cannot remember liao ... only luck that VW Tiguan one worked in size and needed direction of outlet.

Guess for say 800, he will do it for you if his regular customers or kakis recommend.

Btw, work fine with usual central control of foot blowers which were redirected.

Cheers.

Richard

PS: I can sell you all 3 types of remaining outlets for sgd10 if you manage to strike deal with Foon to proceed ... clear storeroom for me ..lol

Wah thanks Richard. U r the master of lobangs. Ok too bad my car is opel astra.

Hi Digthis1,

Do not know if any of the 3 vents will fit the Opel Astra ... have to try.

Forester's console is quite narrow and hence only VW Tiguan fits well.

Cheers.

Ya.illogical is the self professed expert who claimed to have heard something when you didnât change anything.

Anyway lots of such people around, they just want to act as an expert and cannot lose face.

One should always keep an open mind. If a stuff is good means itâs good, regardless of $$ spent or brand. Expensive equipment and install can also be shit regardless of how you tune. Doesnât mean top class stuff will always be good in whatever setting. Some are quick to condemn the install and tuning rather than the equipment if things donât sound right. Equipment also made by man and equally failable.

Anyway like Richard says, itâs a hobby and it doesnât need to make sense. Else it would have been easier just to plug in headphones to your phone as audio in the car.

Used to play with ice, but gave up liao. No longer so ngeow with things and happy to accept a simple stock audio setup. My car is also 99% stock from factory. For me it is now, mod less, less things to fix.

And more money saved

Hi Goh,

Dun think Roger is implying that especially since you did not even state what speakers you had changed to but if you had googled on this Kenwood, my concern is that it is quite an old set since 2010 and audio electronic especially dac, usb, bt etc had improved quite a bit.

But since already decided and seemingly committed before sharing, it will be ok.

Cheers.

Richard

Yep. Just asking only

Need advice from gurus here. My stock head unit does not have any rca output, and there is no panel available to enable me to change to aftermarket head units. I've changed the front 2 speakers but the improvement is limited. Changing the bass, treble and mids on the EQ doesn't make much difference.

I do not wish to spend too much as well, would adding an amp make a difference?

Hi hi, I'm not a guru.

Maybe you can share, what is the thing lacking that you're looking to improve. Not enough bass? Sound is too bright? Not warm enough? Vocals are muffled?

Did you change to component speakers or coaxial? Soundproofed your front doors?

If the source is lousy, Adding an amp will only amplify the lousy sound and make you more pek chek.

U can add a DSP with built in amp, better.
