Just to clarify.

I just did the 10K service and I asked the service supervisor about topping battery water and he told me no need as it is a maintenance free battery.

So for maintenance free battery, we can still add battery water overtime our self?

if i'm not wrong, on the side or top of the battery , it will state whether it is maintenance-free or not. for the one i have (and bro soonkuay), you can see by one look on the battery surface that there are about 5 'screw-caps' that can be detached to top up the water.

Bro. Referring to noise from where? Noise can come from eng bay, tyres and base (road noise), roof (raining) and side doors. I do agree Vezel eng noise is louder.

i like the engine growl actually. SUV supposed to feel rugged yet refined and composed at the bends.

If it's super quiet, then quite boring actually.

For each individual, it wud also be very subjective and depends on what we compare it with.

Should come try my wife's Suzuki Liana HB haha..like a van. And when my wife compares that to my Vezel, peaceful...

Yes!!! I saw those 'screw-caps'. If it is maintenance free it will come with rubber stopper to prevent opening.

'sign' some service guy I got :P

Thanks all for your confirmation. :)

Hi everyone!! I'm new here!

Im looking at getting the Vezel 1.5X and went car shopping yesterday. It looks so good!! Congratulations to all who have gotten/waiting for your ride. I'm keen to make a purchase but not sure if I shd wait or do it now. My Coe is expiring first week of Jan 2016.

Could you all please recommend your PIs and if possible, share with me your rates and freebies inclusive? So far I think Leco gave the best rates but Just wanna compare before confirming. Thank you so much! 😊

Double confirm non maintenance free type. Need to top up ourself. I did so a couple of times but very min only.

I drive a X and i too find it noisy. Also depends what was your previous car. If quiet type, then you will not feel the difference.

When you are approaching to do your 1K servicing, do not use w40 engine oil, which is very common in Singapore. Honda manual says w20 but most of us use w30. Using w40 will be louder and lower FC.

Wow... thank you so much bro. i will make sure they used at least w30, if not the engine will roar louder. Keke.

Wow, I see the number of replies on this thread and think thats a lot of information.

Been thinking of getting the Vezel but it seems like only available from PIs. Have always gotten from ADs, so just wondering if someone can add more things I should watch out for when purchasing from PIs. There were a few articles on that, but these were 3 key points I thought were the main ones.

1) Ensure car is currently available. Chasis number and all?

2) Accessories promised all stated clearly.

3) Warranty stated clearly and from reputable workshop

Anything I missed out?

With the large number of PIs out there, how do I check which are reputable? Anyone can share most competitive price and freebies? Thanks!

I got to agree very much to this. If its looks like an SUV (i know its not one on paper), than let it be like an SUV, rugged, roar loudly, tough looking etc. Dont try to turn it into a coupe. Better off driving a 2 dr sports car.

I am planning to buy Vezel this week. Anybody bought from JDM Automobile at Turf City before? Is it realiable?

U can check the listing who bought from where.

Even the seller is reliable, IMHO you should get a few quotes & compare the prices/freebies/accessories (especially the model of the HU as price difference between the models could be $500+/- different). We can't blame them from making a bit more out of anyone, so its our duty too to be diligent as you will discover many of us paid different prices. So long it is reasonable, be happy & enjoy the ride.

I don't drive a Vezel, but I feel the need to clarify on your post.

W40 = thicker, more engine protection, quieter engine, higher FC

W20 = thinner, less engine protection, noisier engine, lower FC

W30 is the"in-between" of the above. I do not recommend using W20 in our hot climate.

Point 1 not necessary avail , some car are otw just make sure book from reputable one , ask them place the estimated delivery week.

CHeck with other bros around who buy from which with reputable PI , mistakes would be lesser.

No longer true..u have to factor velocity of flow. In a cold or hot climate..operating temperature of the vehicle is the same.

It is during starting up and start stop that u need high velocity flowing EO. it is also impt to look for higher grade oils with proper additives and detergent for protection against wear.

If u look at anti-wear numbers for different oil viscosity,u may be start to relook at the assumed higher viscosity = better protection.

If the oil take a fraction of a second longer due to higher viscosity to reach the vital parts dat require lubrication. It is as good as useless.

if they r importers and not resellers/dealers who buy from importers, they will noe the chassis number once their cars are being shipped out of japan. Dats e identification for the vehicle,so nothing will go wrong.

If they dun have chassis number to give..have to clarify why.

If they tell u car is alredy on e way but no chassis number yet..dats LYING

Hello Beehive,

A few of the Vezel owners real feedback is that using LiquiMoly W40 oil the engine sounds very coarse and feels very rough. Yet, after changing to a reputable brand of W30 oil, the rough sound disappears. This real world feedback and experience disputes your vague theory that W40 = quieter engine.

In fact, in my workshop testing, Motul 300V 5W40 oil does increase the engine noise for inexplicable reasons. Switching to AMSOil Signature 5W30, the noise lessens considerably. All these with better FC to boot.

The general "old school workshop" attitude towards using W20 in today's engines are flawed. I have explained in one of my previous posts why it is "not so taboo" to use thin engine oils in today's engines. The L15B engine used in the Vezel is hardly stressed in everyday driving. In fact, the reason why I recommend it is because of the frequent start-stop that most users prefer to switch on.

Unless you are talking about using W20 oils in highly strung engines such as the K20 or turbocharged DI engines, I don't see an issue using W20 oil long term. The main issue is availability of W20 in the mass market. And most importantly, good brands of engine oil plays a part too.

Peace.
