Hi gorilla_chow,

Is this just plug and play? Easy to install ourselves?

hi Robin

yes it is just plug and play, just remove the cover and plug it in (see photo, just remove the cover below the steering wheel, remove cover, plug-in and put back the cover).

I find I very useful during road trip to Malaysia with the auto lock, and when door is open, the signal light is alternate blinking (thus don't have to manually press the hazard light). Also, after alighting your passenger it will auto re-lock again when  you move off.

As what gorilla chow sir said, the obd is working fine on xtrail and seems reliable to me after a week of use. The autolock activated within milliseconds of stepping accelerator. For my obd, the blinking lights also activated when reversing and self lock when engine is turned off. A practical feature for an absent minded person like me. All these features cost less than $30 including shipping.

However, if u prefer a more reliable alternative, i hearsay TC now does offer autolock installation for xtrail at $120 (only at BT service centre). You may wish call up to confirm.

Otherwise the obd from taobao works just fine and value for money.

10.5 is super good!

Have u done manual calculation?

Managed to achieve 750km for a 60l filled u i.e 70% highway 30% city. Probably the good mileage is also due to the 10k servicing midway.

Thus far the best mileage i have.

Thinking of installing this plug and play HUD which shows the digital speed. Useful display when travelling in kpe tunnel. But with one obd already taken up in my car, i have no other outlet to plug.

Does anyone know the obd cable which can serve 2 obds in the 2nd pic is worth to try?

696km on 60l so about 11.6 km/l.

Wondering if I should change to synthetic oil at 1k servicing. Is there any advantage to keep using mineral oil?
