Any one know about the new Infiniti Q50

Do note, someone's trolling this forum for feedback like these to tell us to accept all these minor issues regardless. After all, if I spend my money on my car, I have to take his advice :a-t9412:

If they want early adopters to help spread positive feedback about the car/brand, then they ought to make sure that after-sales is soild. Genuinely try to fix any problems, and not just gloss over issues and hope it goes away, pple give up or become resigned to the problems.

Next time if the brand does take off big time then can be a bit more yah yah lah right? haha

Hi guys. Congratulations on those who bought the Q50!

I'm currently driving a BMW 320i and have just booked a Ruby Red Q50 (Sports). Test drove A4, 318i & C180 ($160-185k each) and the Q50 wins in most aspects. 208HP - nice. Was also looking at the A6 (188HP) but it'll cost me about $210k. So with this budget in mind, instead of getting the A6, I finally got the Q50 + the ability to purchase 4-5 lots of CitiDev shares.. heh..

I've had ego re-calibrated a couple of months ago - so badges are not priority anymore. At least for now ;)

For me, I like the Q50 as well. Haven't liked the experience of buying it or getting a problem resolved. Unfortunately, no one else sells a Q50 here, and I've got to wait for warranty expiry before I bring it some place else.

I have been having this noise a few weeks after I collected my car in March. Still around actually.

Sent it in before and they did something which solved it for a while but it came back. It seems like its coming from the panel ... sending it for servicing next week, will ask again. I also read in the US forums, that some of them use sprays to fix it but really, I just think that something is loose in inside the panel.

You will also realise that after a while, turning the steering wheel there are some creaking sounds but they can fix it quickly. Likely something that needs to be addressed every servicing.

Pretty small items, generally, the car is still of good quality, at least for me. Do note, someone's trolling this forum for feedback like these to tell us to accept all these minor issues regardless. After all, if I spend my money on my car, I have to take his advice :a-t9412:

A quick field report after having the car for 1.5 days.

so far so good. Enjoying the many high tech features, bells n whistle and driving dynamics. Also like it to be quite rare on the road and different from the more common equivalent contis on the road. Have been blasting the bose system so cant really hear any creaking noise. Beside being a good looker with a tinge of agressiveness in front, its interior quality is really top.notch with soft plastic n stiched leather with aluminium insert. Only wish that the car can be lower to reduce the wheel arch n tire gap with high performance brake system to go with the 19 inch tires.

My SE is very efficient and patient and importantly not pushy. It also helps the q50 or skyline sells by itself as buyers tend to want something different from the crowd.

Anyone who would like her contact, can pm me.

I have no hardware issues to complain. People at Wearnes also good.

Yes I have software problems (GPS, Clock) but am informed they are working on these, should be ready soon, and at the moment no reason to think otherwise. So far, as my first ever new and not used car purchase, I'm so far enjoying both the experience and still the car after 5-months.

Another trip up to KL on Sunday for a few days so stretch the legs again.

Done. The rattling sound is gone [thumbsup] . They said it was due to the rails at the back seat.

I'm pretty happy with their services so far. Took down all issues that I raised regardless how minor and quite earnest in trying to resolve them. Very friendly and attentive service engineers.

Congrats on your new ride. It seems those who bought the Q50 generally has the same feel about the car - its features, quality, price and road-rareness.

My SE left Wearnes :nosepick: . Is your SE pretty?

Yah, have to say the overall experience for me so far has been positive, especially relative to the other ADs I visited, including the other ones under Wearnes..

But hope I am not speaking too soon, cos I haven't got my car yet! haha

They have fixed this for the new deliveries. Before I book the car in August, I was also worried and got the SE to show me a Q50 that has GPS installed and it worked fine. SE assured me that they have fixed this in July.

Collected my Q50 this week and tested the GPS. It picked up the Sat Signal fast and was accurate on the location. Even tried changing route and the system was able to route a new road immediately. Have no clock drop issue so far and keeping my finger closed.

Mid to end July I was in touch with my SE about the GPS and early Aug. with regards the dropped clock.

In July I was told the GPS was still under testing and would be available August or September. It's the same schedule for the software elsewhere in the car so my GPS is not fixed yet. My 6m service is due at the end of this month so I hope to get all updated then.

Seen one pretty se there but she is married. Importantly se must be able to make the purchasing process smooth for us and have good knowledge of what they are selling. Better still go aftersale follow up....

3 quick questions for fellow owners please:

1. do you find your proximity sensors a bit delayed in their beeping "activation" as well? Both front and back for mine. For the front, by the time they beep, I'm already past the closest part of my turn.

2. bluetooth audio: I guess it's a common problem that you need to really crank up the volume to get a decent volume from iPhones? Seems to be the case (to different extents) for most of the cars I've driven. Is there any fix for this?

3. auto start-stop: I know it's been covered to some extent in earlier posts, but am I right to say it's "charged" by braking? What's the max "engine off" time you've had? I've only had my car 3 weeks, but I don't think I've had more than 20 seconds, which sounds pretty silly if that's really all the system can do. My air-con is almost always at the lowest fan setting, and around 24 degrees.

TIA

Hi,

I just test drove the Sport version, along with the Audi A4 and Volvo S60. Same stretch on the AYE between Alexandra and Clementi.

The Q50 was the most fun and dynamic drive but one thing that stood out was the high road noise of the Q50.

Can this noise can be reduced by changing tyre or is it that the Q50 insulation is not on par with the A4 and S60?

Thank you.

Bro, q50 comes with active noise cancellation technology through the audio speakers. I suspect its due to the largest tires among the three and it is rft.q50 is more inclined towards sporty drive n is the only rwd among the three. Its quite opposite of lexus in terms of quietness. Maybe u can test drv the premium using 17 inch to see if u can accept the noise.
