SINGAPORE: The Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Wednesday (July 16) announced there will be 11,331 Certificate of Entitlement (COE) for bidding for August to October this year.

In a statement, it says the monthly quota for the period will be 3,777, down from the previous quarter's 4,019. The next quota announcement for the bidding period of November 2014 to January 2015 will be made in October 2014, it added.

Quota down for next quarter? COE price going up again?

Should be A & B up a bit

The monthly quota for Category A cars (up to 1,600cc and 130bp) has risen to 1,143 from 1,011 in the previous quarter, while the quota for Category B cars (above 1,600cc or 130bhp) is now 1,010, up from 966 in the previous quarter.

For the open category, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mainly for bigger cars, the monthly COE supply will be 478, down from the previous quarter’s 586. Goods vehicles and buses will have a monthly supply of 515, down from 770, and motorcycles will have 631, down from 686.

Thks for updates. Cat A up 10%, which is not much. But A and B are really close now. (1143-1010)/6 bids = 22 per session. Unless LTA move the korean bro (Elan & K3) up to B, Cat A will overtake Cat B.

ANyway, when is the tsunami coming? Heard coming, coming, coming since late last year, still don come??

Turbocharged

also do see the number of de-registered car. Meaning every month a lot of people giving up car ownership or waiting on the side line

I believe many people would drive their car until the last day of the 10th year, unless no choice but to change car.

wah, heng for cars still quota inches up instead of down...

then i keep my dream of COE continue dropping, hopefully significantly in the next 12 mth so that i can replace my car before it expires in Jan 16...

A small tsunami should come in Jan-Mar 2015 quota allocation. This will be the next quota allocation where all clawback for past over projections are all compensated.

LTA jz announced COE Quota for Aug to Oct...

Cat A: up 13%

Cat B: up 4.6%

Open Cat: down 19%

LTA Announcement: Certificate of Entitlement (COE) Quota for August to October 2014

Cat A & B r within expectation basing on Apr n May data.

but the adjustments for taxi n Early Turnover Scheme hv spoilt the mkt for Open Cat. not sure if this was the reason to take so long to do the computation.

Big tsunami will come only when a lot of cars are 10 years and need to be scrapped at the same time. Due to current high price and loan restriction most people will go for 2nd hand and their scraped car contribute to more Coe in subsequent quota allocation. Expecting it to be sometime mid 2015 onwards.

LTA website just updated with new stats for Jun14. Total dereg for Apr-Jun 14 is 12867, which is lower than 13352 for Jan-Mar 14 period. That explains not much increase in allocation for Aug-Oct period. In fact the quota is lower, just that somehow LTA make a ratio change in cat A,B, Open cat and make cat A and B seem like a slight increase.

I think Open cat quota being down will drive up big cc car price in next 3 months. Small car should be slightly cheaper by few K.
