Kentz Neutral Newbie April 25, 2017 Share April 25, 2017 I touched 175 on my fna. U try see can go higher than that lor.. but be safe pls Thanks bro for caring, :) was waiting for a clear stretch before trying. Got just slightly higher, around 180 but seems like something is limiting it. But only try it once coz after that the traffic was heavier than usual, with those damn buses keep overtaking and blocking the right lane. Not surprising just got serious accident involving those bus.
Tohto Hypersonic April 25, 2017 Share April 25, 2017 thanks, I was thinking along the lines of turbo and overheating. yes, intend to service at 700km (3weeks) before embarking on the trip. USA, Australia etc.. all summer much much hotter than here. And they are all driving long distance.
kssg777 1st Gear April 25, 2017 Share April 25, 2017 anyone have experience driving FXT all the way up north to Penang with minimal break? is the car capable of doing such long distance? Well .. I had done it with my FNA during Dec holidays SIN - PEN - GENTING highland - SIN fully loaded 4 adult 3 big bags with only me one driver - Worst is big big traffic jam in IPOH cause by an oil tanker over turn along highway.. just after the IPOH tunnel.. took me almost 16 ~ 17 hours to reach Penang.. normally i need 9 hours to reach Penang Ride perform very well on highway.. only when descending from Genting was shocking that the brake dun work well.. almost crash with a car in front of me

shutterbox 3rd Gear April 25, 2017 Share April 25, 2017 Oh my..... I assume you using stock brake. The stock brake so lousy? :( A few factors. Forester is already heavy+almost full load+downhill=lots of momentum n very hard work on brakes.

Perhaps that was what happened? In such situation, better to use L gear engine braking instead. But be careful - when change into L gear, the car will suddenly slow down. You need to get ready to step accelerator to compensate initially. Best to practice in Spore on empty road to get used to this first. Tohto Hypersonic April 25, 2017 Share April 25, 2017 (edited) Did you shift to Xmode? Was going through some review video for FXT and stated that Xmode aids in descending roadX mode can't go above 40km/h. Not suitable for most of the Genting road. It is for X off road used. Evilernie 4th Gear April 26, 2017 Share April 26, 2017 Buy from MI. Can use points to offset in the end pay less than $10 Dear Undertaker_s, Thanks for the info, I had already redeem the points during the 1K servicing. Will need to get from outside which is cheaper, which is why I'm asking about the parts number.

flikmy 2nd Gear April 26, 2017 Share April 26, 2017 anyone did the front sensor at MI? is it useful?? how about the auto folding side mirrors? SE told me not advisable as it will fasten wear and tear....true? What is the front sensor you're referring to? Parking sensors? For the auto folding mirrors, they were including it for free with cars sold in Dec 2016. So I guess they shouldn't be too bad. However, it will force the mirrors to fold more often. I know the folding mirrors on my old Jazz broke down before 10 years and so did the mirrors on my mom's Peugeot 407. Not sure if reliability for these things have gotten better. Icecube187 2nd Gear April 26, 2017 Share April 26, 2017 Yes, I have the front sensors. useful when you are new to the car. Switched off for good now as its really loud and irritating. Unless I get MI to disable the buzzer and just refer to the lights indicator... hmm idea. anyone did the front sensor at MI? is it useful?? how about the auto folding side mirrors?
