For pika pika application, make sure the surface is free from wax or other sealent. Some good wax are quite durable. Detegent also cannot dissolve it. Get a bottle of Meguiar Scratch X or Mantis Scratch Removal to remove the wax as well as oxidation. You may need to clay the surface if the surface feels rough to touch. Washed with detergent to remove the Scatch X and dry. Make sure your dry the edges, gaps, etc. One way is to use a lens blower to force water out from those tiny gaps. Feel the paint and it should feel very squeaky clean. But there are 3 very important component for a perfect application.

1-Bright light or Day light

2-Half dozen of Red bull

3-Shelter to cure the next 12 hr.

Have fun!

That is why I prefer to do it on new car. can cut down the surface preparation step.

There are 3 kind of Pikarain. Which one has best gloss? Did you also get the Nano spray for 2nd layer?

Sure anot or just to made me happy? [laugh] Today, finally manage to see a Blue Forester. Guess I made the right color choice by paying extra for indent color.

maybe 2.0i selling too good, peoples finally realized 2.0i more valuable than 2.0XT  :D

most of foresters buyers are swayed after test drive. Before test drive, Harrier, CRV, Rav4, Xtrail, Sorento rank above the forester turbo. After test drive, the equation kinda changes. It's not just the pricing. Even if Harrier or other makes pricing came down or if foresters adjust pricing upwards.. choices may still be the dame

That's exactly what happened to me. We started the search process looking at Harrier. However being unable to test drive the car was one major buggeration.. Went through the usual suspects and finally dwell upon forester. Did all the homework before heading down to test drive the xt. There was no turning back after that. As they say, the rest was history... All I can say is, I'm a happy buyer. :D

Then after test drive.. do u search in SGcarmart for small SUV with similar power and realize that they cost 199k and above.. too expensive and realise must be realistic..

and start looking back at those 150k below suv and even if interior is nicer, the driving traits are different... And feels quite sian that you are driving a 130-150k mild car for the next 5-10 years and couldn't convince yourself to commit to the other interior nicer, perceived higher OMV SUV..

You still need to prep as MI polished and waxed my ride before handling over to me. I wanted them to polish and not to wax but my SE said cannot be done. Well. Anyway the wax applied by MI was quite durable. It cant be totally remove using mama lemon. So i use scratch x to remove the wax and use mama lemon to wash away the scratch x. Scratch X is a very effective and its contains no abrasive. This process took me 2 hours.

I got the Premium as its the latest product. Gloss is not my concern as my ride is silver colour. Nano spray is not for layering but maintain the shine and water sheeting/beading of the base coat. I will be working on 2nd layer of pika pika this week since I still have left over.

This is must for pika pika to bond well with the clear coat.

thx, didn't know that the car is waxed during collection. 2hrs of dewax will be a pain in my ass. No point to do it the soonest upon collection then. Maybe wait till before CNY and look for workshop to do the job. Hopefully raining season is over by then.

In term of reliability and gloss level, any idea how is the Pikarain fair with this Cosmics glass coating?

I just realize exactly next to my office workshop is doing Cosmics glass coating at $488 [:)]

Think Pierce (Pikarain detailer) coating at Sin Ming is doing at only $400.

Good luck booking with the pikapika guys. Long waiting queue and personally feel they like not hard up for my biz. Took my money else were. Personal opinion. Others may have better interactions

I went for a test drive the XT at Leng Kee.

The SA drove up the car to the side with the engine running... first impression for me was that the engine was kinda loud from the outside. Not too sure if there was any sound dampening under the hood or that engine was not warmed up yet.

Drive wise.. I have to say the power when you need it is definitely there.

As for pricing, if you can wait.. then wait... if cannot, then just pull the trigger and get the car and enjoy it first. There will always be upgrades/facelifts.

Yap, mine bidding missed by $2. Another 2 round before next year. Wonder the next 2 round is higher or lower.

Axela72, your car not arrived at Singapore yet right? If you are on guaranteed COE, then MI will sure bid for you when the stock arrive.

At current COE climate, MI so far never fail to bid beyond 3 bids.

Yes it's loud, but not exhaust loud, its Abit like the taxi clicking sound from engine bay.

I reckon its due to the direct injection, kinda like CRDI diesel engines.
