For those of you who took delivery of this model, how is the ride quality? Is it under powdered?

I am in the market to purchase a small SUV.  Could not decide whether on this or the Honda Vezel.

Was looking at Vezel too. But decided to book ASX bec its 2L. Hence power not a concern at all. Both got pro and cons but both value for $. ASX is the chepaest 2L car around and comes with good spec.

Comparing the ASX and the Vezel, its a 2.0 vs a 1.5.

For the price category of about +/-100k, the ASX is the most powerful SUV.

For a 2.0 SUV category, you should be going for the Subaru XT.  It's a Turbo charged 2.0 with over 200 horses.

Supercharged

I have reservation on reliability issue with turbo engines.

I kinda agree though maintenance won't b any diff, just additional differential oil for awd. But due to higher pressure n heat, seals n gaskets may need replacement much earlier. Ever saw a used limited older xt version w wet gasket when I peeped under engine bay.

Subaru Forrester has the non-turbo version, which is much cheaper.

If considering 1.5/1.6 SUV, then XV is another option too. But if do not mind the higher road tax, fc and insurance, then ASX is the best at the similar pricing. There are also not many around compared to vezel and forester.. :a-m1212:

At the end of the day, it depends on what is your priority - budget or power.

If comparison of power is purely between the ASX and the Vezel, the ASX has got higher horsepower.

The ride quality is comfortable on good roads, it is running on 18" so not so soft riding as a 17" or 16".

On rough roads, ride can get more choppy and unsettled, but not uncomfortable.

I have tested 1.5L HR-V (Thai made Vezel), surprisingly the acceleration is comparable, as HR-V is lighter than ASX.

Personally, think that the power for ASX is only just adequate.

There is a 2.4L model in USA (Outlander Sports) which should be much better.

But not available for S'pore market.

My advice is that you should test drive both ASX and HR-V on the same day to get a sense of their ride quality and power.

Vezel is PI, so not sure if you can test drive it. After that you will be in a better position to make up your mind.

Hrv has a high omv, about 20+k, while Vezel's omv is below 20k. If compare Vezel x against the Asx, these are the main differences:

Vezel - 1500cc, Honda sensing, lever handbrake, large rear passenger space with liftable seats.

Asx - 2000cc, asc/traction control, peddle shift/ sports gear, hill start assist, anti glare rear mirror, emergency brake signals, knee airbag, larger fuel tank, 18" wheels, spare wheel, 5yrs agent warranty on all parts, 10yrs agent engine warranty, servicing reception at c&c with light refreshments!

Boot space vezel is better but ASX has spare tyre. If remove the spare tyre can create more space. I also like the folding side mirror, it auto fold when u lock the door unlike other where u need to press button from inside the car.

The current spare wheel is a Yokohama Geolander 16" tyre.

It is strictly a spare tyre and cannot be used for day-to-day driving.

Has anyone ever asked C&C if it is possible to buy a full sized spare tyre 225/55 R18 size?

Wonder if it can fit inside the boot?
