    Mitsubishi Outlander

Hi, Was wondering if anyone here is driving 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander (or used to own one) ? Thinking of converting to SUV from my Mark X... Was looking at Outlander as I like the design and functions. Any things I should take note of ?

  3. FINALLY! Some positive and heartwarming news to share. Thanks to Mothership for breaking it down into gif. https://mothership.sg/2021/06/traffic-police-officers-push-car/ According to the driver, Tan Wei Boon, his car's alternator was facing issues, and subsequently, the vehicle stalled and could not be jumpstarted again. An alternator is a type of electric generator that charges the car's battery and power the electrical system when the engine is running. Tan was out buying dinner for his colleagues back in office when the incident happened. During his failed attempt to restart his car, a black Mitsubishi Lancer, a police patrol car with its blinkers turned on showed up at the scene. It was drizzling at that time. In the video's caption, Tan wrote that he felt stressed when he saw the police approaching him at first. However, the pair of police officers who emerged from the patrol car then ran towards Tan and his stalled car. It turned out they had arrived to give the driver a hand by pushing his car out of the busy intersection onto a smaller road and into a nearby housing estate car park. The video extracted from the stalled car's rear camera showed the two police officers pushing the car from behind while the driver steered. The two officers had their face masks on at that time. At one point, the driver could be heard asking one of the officers to switch places: "Exchange now, I push, you drive?" But the officers continued to push the car to the nearby car park while the driver steered. Right after this short conversation, a car with hazard lights turned on slowed down behind the officers pushing the car. It appeared that the car was deliberately providing a buffer between the officers and oncoming traffic. However, the driver of the car then got out and ran towards the two officers and helped to push the stalled vehicle. As the car was pushed past a bus stop, the driver who got off his car to help called on public transport commuters to help out. One of them then joined in to push the car as well. According to the video's caption, the total distance the car was pushed was about 200m. Tan said he created the video to create awareness about the kind actions of all those who assisted. He also said he has written in to the police to compliment the public spiritedness of the police officers who stopped to help.
  4. ? Which one to go for ? Cheap & good.
  5. Sound proofing is usually 2 layers. One layer is on the metal bit of the door and then another layer is on the frame of the door. Mitsu actually bothered to stick 2 pieces of felt to dampen a bit of vibration on the door plastic. One layer on the door skin One layer on the door frame Mitsu has 2 pieces of felt. Better than never put anything I guess.
  6. This is what happens when you get your license from the arcade. What went down On 10th May 2021 at 12:04pm, a Tribecar was seen crashing into a Mitsubishi Attrage as the it tried to make an exit out of the CTE tunnel. The shocking thing was not the fact that the car cut through 3 lanes to make the exit but rather, the driver simply continued driving off after the crash (like as though nothing big had happened just a few seconds ago). Additionally, the crash looked like something that you would see when two people hit each other with their bumper cars in an arcade. Do you see the resemblance or is it just me? Netizens' reactions According to Tribecar's official website, rental drivers involved in an accident are required to stop, take pictures of the incident and get eyewitnesses' statements so that the company could file for an insurance claim. However, this driver's irresponsible actions ticked off netizens as they reprimanded the Tribecar driver for driving off after causing an accident. Honestly, I believe that all of this could have been avoided if the Tribecar driver had just continued on his route and missed his exit. After all, spending a few dollars for extra rental time definitely beats spending thousands of dollars for repairs. I hope that all parties involved are fine and that the Mitsubishi driver is still able to make an insurance claim for the damages done to his vehicle. What do you guys think?
  7. Hi guys I face the following scenario. My friends told me it is weird and better let the workshop do the claiming. I was hit by a van from behind. I was stationary at traffic light when it is red. Sent my car to workshop for repairs and was advised that law firm of insurance company will contact me with regards to claim for doctor visits (anyway I see doc for 1 day MC only - $20+). The law firm contacted me and I furnished the receipts and MC. That was in May 2014 last year. Now, law firm calls back and says that the judge (dont know simi judge) says that in order to expedite the claims, the other party will pay 90% while I foot my own 10% (huh? SMLJ, must I die from the accident then the other party will pay 100%?). Anyway, to cut the long story short. I refused to accept the explanation of 'expediting' the claims. My question - has any bros here deal directly with the lawyers on such matters? Or will workshop settle for you? And also, if I settle with the 90/10, will this translate to me admitting that I was 10% at fault in the first place and will this affect my car repair claims also (meaning also become 90/10, then NCD kana affected)? Can any kind souls help me out here?

    2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross

Remember the eclipse? His SUV brother is born. Front foggies seems too big though. Remember Mit used to say they may evo their SUVs (somehow they retracted that statement recently). Maybe this is the model they are referring to. Wonder if this will arrive in SG. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g79iujwY930

    Mitsubishi Attrage.

I'm curious how this small & underpowered car will perform in SG context... It's immensely popular in US due to low cost & fuel frugality. Anyone test drive or bought 1? Comments?
  10. Any bros here know where i can buy original parts for mitsubishi cars apart from CNC? I wish to change my shock absorbers soon thanks!

    Mitsubishi ASX

Hi bros, Wonder why cannot find forum talking about this car? Recently the car price drop till 110k with 6 bid-guarantee COE. It comes with 7 airbags, moonroof, keyless engine start, memory seat and make in japan. I find the exterior and interior quite nice with above-mentioned feature and pricing is likely the cheapest in the market. Is this car having problem? Any bro driving now can share?
  12. First time car buyer here. Planning to sign for my first car soon. Will be buying a new car at an AD. Any brothers/sisters here can advice on what to take note of when signing for the car?
  13. Someone has spotted this chrome-wrapped Mitsubishi Evolution 9 MR parking at some motorcycle lots and sent it to SG Road Vigilante. The photo, which was taken on 30th of May 2020, obviously shows the Mitsubishi Evo occupying lots intended for motorcycles. You might be wondering why we are sharing this with you as HDB parking offences are not that big a deal as it is a common occurrence. In fact, we reckon most of us should have some form committed parking offences before and simply sort out our mistake by making an appeal for the parking offence. What is interesting however, are the comments on this photo on SGRV's facebook post, there were more netizens praising how cool the Evo looked or how rare the car is instead of the usual slamming and shaming comments. Don't you love our local car community?

    Lancer Ex 1.6

Hope to find kakis who are driving the same model since this variant is still relatively unknown even to workshop.
  15. Now that is one close shave. As seen on SG Road Vigilante's facebook page, an Audi TT failed to stop at the give way line, nearly crashing into a Mitsubishi Lancer Ex which had the right of way on 29th of April Eagle-eyed readers would have definitely spotted the P-plate sign on the Audi, signaling to us that this might just be a rookie's honest mistake. In our opinion, we thought the camera car would have gotten a larger shock, seeing the Lancer swerve into his lane along Sengkang West Road. On another note, should the Lancer have slowed down instead of (recklessly)accelerating into the camera car's lane? 20. Hi, I was looking at my G-plate commercial vehicle insurance terms and conditions. Realized that "geographical area" includes West Malaysia and 80 km into Thailand ! So I am planning to drive G-plate into Malaysia without getting the relevant permits from Malaysia side. I wish to know: How is the ban on Singapore commercial vehicles enforced? Is it aggressively enforced, or just another close-one-eye type of regulation? Exactly where do they do they conduct checks?
  21. Mitsubishi has said before that it is not intending on making another Lancer Evolution. But there are reports that a new one is in the works. According to Autocar's article, it claimed that Mitsubishi is planning to revive the Lancer Evolution and build an 11th-generation model, as it found out from unnamed “Japanese-based sources”. It explained that Mitsubishi wants to spice up its lineup and try to cater to the enthusiasts. Using the CMF-C/D F4 platform from the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and parts that could be shared with the next-generation Megane R.S., the new Evo might sound like a possibility. While some reports cited that the car could be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder paired with the addition of a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, others said that it could use the existing 1.8-litre turbocharged lump found in the current Megane R.S.
  22. Mitsubishi set to resurrect Lancer Evolution Source: https://www.motoring.com.au/mitsubishi-set-to-resurrect-lancer-evolution-119217/ Reborn Japanese hero to share its underpinnings with Renault Megane RS, according to fresh reports The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is set for a rebirth. British publication Autocar reports the cult-favourite Japanese sports car will be revived under the alliance between Mitsubishi and Renault. Continuing a rich history kicked off by the first-generation model in 1992, the Lancer Evolution XI is set to offer “supercar-beating acceleration together with the choice of either traditional four-door saloon or five-door hatchback bodystyles,” according to Autocar, which cites Japanese-based sources. The newcomer will reportedly share elements of its drivetrain with the next-generation Renault Megane RS, using a turbocharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine mated to a dual-clutch gearbox and an advanced Mitsubishi-developed S-AWC four-wheel drive system. Presently, the Megane RS engine makes 224kW and 420Nm in its most powerful Trophy-R trim similar outputs to the 226kW/414Nm Evolution X that was retired in 2015. However, the possible addition of electronic boosting in a 48V mild-hybrid system being developed for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance is likely to increase its reserves,” the article claims. The 11th generation of the four-wheel-drive Lancer Evolution has been conceived to sit on the CMF-C/D F4 platform developed within Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi. The Evolution’s revival is reportedly part of Mitsubishi chairman Osamu Masuko’s plans to restore the Japanese car-maker’s famous performance status. Seventy-year-old Masuko is set to relinquish his position as Mitsubishi chief executive to Takao Kato. However, the Mitsubishi veteran will continue to lead the company in the position of chairman. Previous plans by Masuko to develop a successor to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X were placed on hold following heavy losses at the company and its subsequent purchase by Nissan in 2016.

  25. Hello all, My current ride is a Mitsubishi attrage which is bought in Aug 2015 when cat A COE is $57,500 It is paid in full. So far, the car works well for A to B travel. Will it be a good time now to scrap the car to take advantage of the current lower COE? Currently looking at the Nissan Note or looking at another attrage again. Any suggestions? Thank you, Sthh
