Imginary only a week or 2, the over 10k $$$ saving become 0. Worst than spending on car I spend 30k on holidays every year and my present car value is 50k. Different priorities. Life is too short . Do not forget to enjoy it based on whatever your priorities are. You are not going to bring the money along to Mandai Crematorium. Neither are your kids going to be grafeful if you leave them millions behind.They will most probably waste it on buying things which you frowned upon. Wondertree 3rd Gear November 18, 2015 Share November 18, 2015 Someone told me before that if a problem can be fixed using money, then just spend the money. Hence I started getting around with my kids via taxis especially when visiting my parents on weekends. Spend $10-20 more than public transport but save time. That is a nice trade off. Getting a car is a trickier proposition since it will be more convenient since the time saved compared to taking taxis is not as big a difference, and yet it costs more. Personally it then becomes an issue of making sure I do not stretch my finances too much and being more grounded in terms of my choice of car.
