Would you like to tell us more about your application. The others may have even better recommendations.

Thanks to all......my application is quite simple. The rain from the roof comes splashing down and wet all my house utensils, so if I can

get a foam/sponge/or whatever to prevent the water from splashing onto the utensils.

are you not going to repair the roof???...........  [confused]

or isn't it better to cover up the utensils instead???............or connect a drainage from the roof down to somewhere???..............

In this case, I think trying those types of "3M" coil mats would be more suitable. If your car mat is this type, take out and conduct a test. Thicker/higher coils mat would be more effective to prevent splashing.

I think sponge as suggested earlier would not be suitable. I believe you are placing the sponge on the floor permanently, because the rains may come while you are not at home. I don't think the sponge would last long. Furthermore, strong winds may blow it out of position.

Why not fix the leaking ceiling?

There is another thread on leaking ceiling. For mine, we informed the management and they re-waterproof the roof.
