The engine is not the same now using 4A92 compare to 1.5 (4A91) and 2.0 (4B11).

But the important thing is the exhaust now is straight similar to CS3 setup.

Anyone any idea. Does EX has the cruise control?

Also do they still sell the 2.0?

No more 2.0 only 1.6 and no cruise control

Neutral Newbie

Hi! Any sales rep to recommend from Alexandra branch? Roughly how long will it take to get the car? Mine is a old glx, does it feel very different to drive this lancer? lol...

I'm currently contemplating between lancer n Nissan note/pulsar.

Take a test drive of all 3 and see which one suits you best.  [thumbsup]

thanks James. Quite sad that Lancer has not changed its engine like more than 10years ago? 4 speed compared to 6 speed is at the expense of fuel consumption..but you do have a point on reliability ...not sure the differences in suspension of multi-link compared to torsion bar.

Kia Cerato Forte K3 engine is no newer than Lancer engine. It is using the same Gamma engine first used in the 2006 Hyundai Avante. So technically speaking, the engine in the K3 is already more than 10 years old.

If you must go for K3, try to avoid the EX, SE and SX Sports which use LED & Daytime Running Lights. The front and rear lamps costa bomb to replace, at over $1,000+ each (not a pair, price is for one only).

Go for the basic K3 L variant which uses the normal halogen bulbs for the headlamps and conventional bulbs for the rear lamps. It’s a steal at $88,000 now.

If it is really the case, can consider elantra or not?

thanks Vinceng for the useful info. I din know that LED & DRL cost so much....i only know the price different between these variants are damn huge. Actually , funny thing is that the SE also advise me to get the L variant. one more question, as the L variant doesnt come with rear air vent, is the car air con enough to cool the entire car?

Yes, Lancer parts are easily available not not expensive. I used to drive GLX now driving the new Lancer.

A reliable car.

What technology, what special features in korean car do not interest me. I only have an objective of a reliable and comfortable car.

If i want technology n stuff, i already buy a mercs. hahaha

Honda in my opinion is breakdown and parts alot higher than mitsubishi. drove a civic b4 and becos they use aluminium block engine, it will overheat when the car is old. overhaul also did not help much and cost about $2k.

Lancer change of engine gasket, think about $100.
