Test drove this car 2 weeks back. Quite impressed.

For those who have the car, i have a question.

When i tried the all round parking sensor-- i realized that when the reverse gear is engaged, the digital display shows part of the reverse camera of the car, i cannot remember if there is a all round 360 view of the car.

Any existing car owners can clarify?

You are correct that the video only show the front and the back.  After you starting moving the car, it will capture and stitch the image in to form the side view of the car.

There is no physical side camera and it make use of the rear view camera to form the picture but only when you move.

this 3008 is good but I am worried about it reliability.  I been hearing that past peugeot had the water pump and dunno what other pump replaced.  Not too sure about this current new 3008!!!

Hello, just thot I post my 2 cents worth on Peugeot. I have been driving this brand for more than 20 years so I do know a little bit about these cars.  First there are workshops like ANTZ that can repair these cars if you don't want AF to do it. ANTZ does a good job and the team are all ex-AF. As for spare parts, many manufacturers uses common components. In the 3008 the gearbox and AC are Japanese.

Placed an order of the 3008 in Feb and only collected the car in Oct. There is a worldwide production shortage as factory cannot cope with demand. Wanted the GT Line but offered only the Allure. Chose the 1.2 over the 1.6THP as I driven the 508 1.6THP for the last 6 years. The 1.2 having only 3 cylinder revs better than the 4 cylinder 1.6. It also sounds better (quieter too).

After driving for 1 month, believe my decision on the 1.2  over the 1.6 was right (p.s. the 1.6 suffer from turbo oil pipe leak and I changed this twice. others also have similar experiences ( a $500+ repair bill). The engine mountings also need attention every 50,000 KM.

Back to the 3008 1.2  Allure. After 1 week of driving, rattle from left front door and a clicking sound when turning steering during parking. Took it back to AF and they confirm this needed fixing. Changed "comms" device for the steering and attempted to fix rattle. Also replaced the AC condenser as they one from the factory wasn't suitable for the tropics. No big issue and all attended to without fuss.

Also applied "glass coating" the very next day after collecting car. This was done at Artdeshine Toa Payoh Lor 6 SPC petrol station. Victor (90290720) does a great job at a very reasonable price. With all the rain these days, the coating is keeping the car paintwork really nice. I recommend this treatment and has done this for my last 2 Peugeot.

Since the rattle didn't really get fixed, I thot I fix it while I upgraded the sound system. The original speakers are pretty lousy with only 6 speakers (China made very low cost light weight component).  After opening the door panel, which was a real pain to do, the cause of the rattle was evident, there was what look like an LED light control box on the left door (see picture) that rattle occasionally. Sound insulated both front doors (double layers). Swap the cheapo speakers out and installed a pair of RS Audio (German) component speakers in the front and a full range single speaker for each rear door. This made a world of difference to the music. Work done by Fred at Soundflux 97813868. If u enjoy your music, seriously consider this investment. Next assignment, install a power tailgate. (p.s. don't consider the locally installed blind spot monitoring offered by AF, really dump device and totally useless. lights up all the time, it cannot tell a moving object from a stationery).attachicon.gifsoundproof3008.jpg

Huh? After so many donkey years they still have issues with the comms?? I used to drive PSA cars, back dan it was known as the comms2000(it's the module which controls the signal/headlights, wipers and horn), it's poorly constructed and have to be replaced several times. I gave up on their cars. Parts are highly unreliable. Engine misfiring issues and plenty of warning lights telling you to "STOP". Gb which is only 4 speed back dan also give issues. Every time go workshop it will be huge bill no less.

The prince engine has too many issues. Best avoid. The new 3 cylinder turbo is still relatively new. I'm not a big fan of 3 cylinders or even V6(the citroen I last drove has a V6). It's inherently "not balance" unlike a 4 cylinder. Engineers have to use one or more balancer shafts to rotate together with the crankshaft to reduce vibration when it's spinning. It's just like a 4 bladed fan which you remove one blade and replace it with weights to make it spin smoothly. Not only less power but since they installed a turbo you won't feel the difference.

Yes. On the windscreen.

The cam on the windscreen is for Speed Limit Recognition and not for parking.

This cam together with the radar mounted in front between the black grilles, also use for Active Emergency Braking System, sadly this feature is not available here as the radar isn't installed.

You will be impressed with this 3 cylinder engine, been driving mine for 4 months without issue.

Qashqai using 1.2L 4 cylinder turbo engine but produces less power and torque then this engine. Even the newly launch, bigger body Peugeot 5008 uses the same 3 cylinder engine and doesn't show signs of fatigue when accelerating.

Hey HC,

The ride is great! the 1.2l engine really does punch above its own weight. The acceleration is pretty smooth too so you dont feel like you're stressing the engine much as you get up to speed. Previous ride was a Toyota Wish and you can instantly tell the difference between this and a CVT gearbox. Ride quality is very smooth, with minimal road noise - I think they did a good job with their noise insulation.
